I've really got to question the "Dash Rendar versus IG-88" one, and not just out of my dislike for SOTE - I'm just not sure how iconic that is. I'd probably put, oh, the Quinlan Vos saga or something on there way before that.

But obviously a list like this would have its share of controversies, and I generally agree with it.

If only Ania Solo's crew had more time to become memorable. I'd had given them the honorable mention and had Kyle Katarn's existence be #1

 

Also needs Zayne Carrick and the Wraiths.

 

It can probably get lumped in with the Vong, but "None shall pass".

Here's a fun thing--someone in the comments is mischaracterizing my Jedi Temple ETE article to bash the reboot.

 

I'm sure I'll think of others, but Vader's verbal smackdown of Prince Xizor right before the actual smackdown in Shadows of the Empire has always been one of my favorite crowning moments of badass for him.

"Lord Vader! Why is the Navy attacking my ships?"
"Because the ships, under your orders, are engaging in criminal activity."
"Nonsense! My ships are trying to stop a Rebel traitor who destroyed my castle!"
"You have two standard minutes to recall your vessels. And to offer yourself into my custody."
"I will not. I will take this up with the Emperor."
"The Emperor is not here. I speak for the Empire, Xizor."
"Prince Xizor."
"You may keep that title. For another two minutes."
"What are you going to do, Vader? Destroy my skyhook? You wouldn't dare. The Emperor - "
"I warned you to stay away from Skywalker. Recall your ships and surrender into my custody or pay the consequences. I will risk the Emperor's displeasure. However, you will not be there to see it, this time."

And Xizor actually still wonders whether he'll really do it. Of course he will. He's Darth Vader, you punk.

 

This too! Sort of similar to the ROTS Novel.

 

Yup, that's always been the major caveat to my dislike of SOTE: it has one of the most downright badass portrayals of Vader in the EU.

Although it's also a sort of an expression of one of the major problems I have with it.

 

Okay, maybe we should talk about how quite a few of them weren't moments at all?

 

Good list, even has Boba Fett stomping Jodo Kast. Excellent.

 

Nice article. Couple of minor annoyances, though:

- images above the entry headers they pertained to instead of beneath
- "so hammy that they almost caused the extinction of pigs" - really?

 

Ton Phanan's death isn't on the list. That's worth a paddlin'.

 

It can be lumped in with the hunt for Zsinj. I didn't want to spoil any particular moments for people who are new to the EU, maybe "events" wouldn't been a better term but "moments" sounds cooler lol
