BUMP, just doing this for those who have not realised the date has been confirmed.

 

Could everyone who is definitely going to this please post in this thread saying they are going? I need to know how many are going before I put the announcement up.

would like hotel accom too (Travelodge is still the cheapest on the web @£26 per room)

still happy to share my car (4 spaces) with anyone going from south coast area - either I drive or share someone elses car...PM me!

Ok Alton Towers ticket prices per day:

Adult £28
Child £21 (4-11 yrs, in case anyone wants to take their kids)
Under 4's are free, but that's probably irrelevant

Those are on the day prices. If you book online for a group of ten or more that comes down to £21 for an adult and £17.50 for a child. Though since you need to book with a card and tickets are non-refundable, this may not be a good idea in case someone drops out.

No idea on hotels, but the official Alton Towers hotel is EXTREMELY overpriced (and that's being generous). edgejedi88 seems to have the best info on this so I'd say Travel Lodge at £26 per room per night (I think) is the best offer online.

Cheapest way for doing the weekend would be to go down saturday morning, stay over saturday night, do the park sunday and come home. But I know some of you may want (as the dates imply) to go down Friday night and maybe have a meal or something that night before going to the parks the next day.

That's not too bad I suppose. Althought I havnt fully decided if I will stay a weekend or not, just gotta ring and find out local train tix and how far it is from trave lodge or whatnot

 

travelodge is 12 miles from alton towers - you would need to share a car to get there each day. depends how many people are going and who is taking a car - at this point it looks like I will be taking my car.

 

There is also the one day option for those who want to do the meet as cheaply as possible as that would cut out the need for accommodation.

4 places to share in my car if anyone from the south coast area interested -cost around £40-50 for the trip, split between all.
