Am I going to be fired?

I think i'm gonna be fired from my job.

On Saturday, I turned up for work just a little drunk. It's the first time i've done that, and I thought by the time I started work I would be fine. Guess not! It was fairly obvious to my co workers I was a little tipsy, so I tried to stay out of the way of the managers, just tried to work and avoid talking to the higher ups. But nope. A girl called Shelly, one of the managers, had to start a conversation with me! She was asking if I was alright, and you know what it's like when you're drunk, your words come out slurred.

So, later on, I was called to the office! I was asked if I was on drugs!! I told them no, i've just had a couple of drinks a couple of hours before work. They told me there would be an "investigation". Today, the "investigation" took place and I was asked the exact same questions asked the night before. I was told I would get a letter that would tell me what action would be taken.

Now see, if you know me you know that turning up for work drunk is extremely out of character! I hardly ever even drink really. I thought a couple of beers an hour or two before work would be fine. And I was fine if you think about it. Did I become violent? Did I act like a whino? Did I do anything?? No. I just looked a little zoned out, I was a little out of it. That's all. They can still fire me though.

 

If you weren't an irresponsible drunkard, maybe you wouldn't be getting fired

 

It depends who you work for.

It really depends on a lot of things.
How desperate your work is at finding workers.
How good of a worker you were in the past.
The company policies
How much the managers liked you.
There are so many factors that would go into this.

I would expect to be fired if I were you. That way if they keep you, you will be really glad about it.

On that day I started work at 6pm.

 

Don't worry even if you do get fired.
There are plenty of other places to work.

I even here there is a labor shortage over on the other side of Mos Eisley.

If you go to work with one of those farmers, just stay away from the mushrooms. I hear they have already done a few of them in.

Well, depending on what your job is....

If you worked for me (on a construction site), I'd fire you. If you work in some retail store, or restaurant or something, I'd let it slide...once.

 

I'd fire you on principle.

 

Depends who you work for.

If you're a surgeon performing heart transplants, you better believe your arse if fired and probably facing a malpractice suit just to rub it in.
If you work at McDonalds....whatever.

 

Other then being tipsy did it slow your work progress down whatsoever? Then What is it you do for a living? Cause if its just in an office and you didn't mess anything up they'll probably just write you up or give you a verbal warning and let it slide. Its hard to say.

Is it a big chain of cinemas that you work for or is it privatly owned. You are probably all set they are just trying to scare you from doing it again.

You definitely should have been fired. If I was your boss, you would have been gone. Then again, if I was the boss, you probably wouldn't have been hired in the first place.
