PT Am I the only one that loved Attack of the Clones?

I like it. There are things I don't like about it, but I still really appreciate it. I really like that we see Anakin as a young adult and get an idea of how that little boy we saw and loved (at least, I did) in TPM could become Darth Vader. The first hint, "Well...if it works..." in response to proposing a dictatorship. Love that and Padme's response because we know he's serious and she doesn't. I love the whole time they are on Tatooine, too. Some of the dialogue is terrible and some of the CGI offends me, but overall I like what this film brings to the saga.

I remember dragging my mom to see this at the IMAX theater. She had never seen a Star Wars film and did not want to see this. I expected her to fall asleep, but she stayed awake the whole time and at the end she said cheerfully, "That was pretty good!" I feel the same way. 3 out of 4 stars.

 

With all this talk about AOTC, I'm popping the BR disk into my player and sitting' back

I think a good quote to represent the film would be: "Your 'Clones' are very impressive"

 

Love this film. When it first came out I loved it, but it didn't stack against The Phantom Menace for me. Now, I love all the SW films pretty much equally. There is something different to like in each one.

 

We need AOTC in 3D!!!

 

Aside from the cringy line deliveries throughout there is nothing wrong with the PT. I love AOTC and the Coruscant speeder chase is my favorite scene in the PT.

 

I certainly loved it at the time. Now? Not so much.

 

Since I first saw the film when I was 15 it has remained my favorite Star Wars film to this day. I love the blending of various genres. I love the story. I love the acting, especially Anakin's scene on Tatooine. My only complaint is that it isn't longer. I would love to see an extended cut of Clones.

 

They will get around to it eventually.

 

^ They did and it was spectacular. One of the best post-conversions I have seen. Hopefully they will one day be released on 3D-Blu-Ray and TPM 3D's will be more eye-popping (like AOTC's)- personally found that too subtle.

 

When did you see it?

 

I love Attack of the Clones. It's great.
Anakin's attire in the film is great.
Dooku's red lightsaber and Anakin's blue lightsaber swinging around in near dark was a great touch.
The confrontation between the Fetts and Obi-Wan was great.
Jango's Westar 34s sound wicked.
The music segment when Yoda confronts Dooku is great.
I like how Duel of the Fates was incorporated into various scenes and I felt it fitted better in ATOC than TPM.
I like Hayden's acting despite what Prequel critics say.
The whole scene with the chase of Zam Wesell was great.
One of my favorite parts of the film is:

I know the statement about Anakin slaughtering the Tusken Raiders by heart.
I think the part where Anakin is on his speeder going through Tatooine as the sun starts to dip below the horizon.
I like when Anakin springs up and lock blades with Dooku.
I like the opening music when Anakin and Obi-Wan enter Dooku's hangar.
The scene where Sidious and Tyranus meet after the duel is great, music and everything.
And...
Christopher Lee as Dooku.

 

I presume at Celebration Europe in 2013, as they screened it there. I saw a few minutes of footage at Celebration VI and it was wonderful! Still have the glasses they handed out for it, too.

 

Do you even like the love scenes and the bad acting?

 

There's absolutely nothing wrong with the love scenes in AOTC and the acting is fine.

 

What bad acting?

 

Hayden and Natalie....but the bad acting its even worst in ROTS.

 

I'll admit, I do like the love scenes. Anakin and Padme are my favorite SW couple.

 

I do enjoy it, the only part that bothers me about the movie is the final duel,

 

I LOVE THEM ALL!

I feel like it wasn't as epic as it should have been. It might just be me, but I didn't like the music they chose for the fight. Not to mention, we finally get to see yoda fight...it should have been more epic!

If you ever look into it, there was significantly more to that fight, like a longer Anakin duel, you can see that at the end, the awkward arm getting cut off thing, Dooku duel wielded at some point. I wish they'd release this stuff.

 

TPM is still the worst. AOTC clones has some truly cringe-worthy moments, but it also has some really good stuff IMO. It's not enough to push it out of second to last on my SW list, but that's not a terrible place to be really.

I could see how someone could really love it, but I'm not that guy.
