I'd like to go. We were going to see this outdoors in San Jose a couple of years ago, but it got cancelled an hour or so before showtime, for fear of rain (which it didn't!). Maybe afterwards, we can go hang out at, I don't know...Mel's? Never been there before. ;)

I think American Graffiti is a great movie, so I'm going. My favorite scenes are with Milner (Paul LeMat) and Carol (McKenzie Phillips).

I've only seen this movie once. I'd like to see it again. So are we doing a picnic?

This picnic would of course be in the dark, though.

And Washington Park at night even in our Indian Summer can be a bit chilly.

I think everyone should bring their own blanket, just in case. I'll bring one to sit on, as well as 3 chairs. Remember to bundle up, it's San Francisco!

Gail, picknick sounds good. I can always bring a camping lamp. The park should have enough light from the street lamps though. Cheese, crackers, salami, apples, grapes and a bottle of wine, and yeah your cookies for those with a sweet tooth. Doesnt that sound good?[face_batting]
PS North Beach has so many great restaurants, Why Mels?

    American Graffiti made Mels famous.

But since it's my birthday, I'd rather be boozing.

That was way cool seeing this movie outdoors like that. It gave it that old "drive-in movie" feel that I felt when I first saw Star Wars. They even had old ads about going to the drive-in snack bar that was nice. To top it off, there was a fireworks show behind us as the movie ended! :)

Theres always next time. I had alot of fun, we should do this again next time. There are plenty more of these outdoor showings within the month. Rebel Without A Cause is playing over in San Raffel on the 1st. And Tootsie is playing in San Francisco in Delores Park on the 8th. And remember to bring more pillows instead of lawn chairs (which i used as a pillow).
