    New England (Rhode Island) here!

Hopefully the categories make more sense than my first try.

I'm Californian, no matter where I am.

And I still say that Idaho goes into the Pacific category.

Once a Pittsburgher always a Pittsburgher. Even though I live in Utah now.

I lived in Washington for 26 years and while I am currently out of the country, I will ALWAYS consider myself a Pacific Northwester.

I was born in the Midwest (Chicago) but moved here to L.A. with my parents when I was barely a newborn. I know L.A. better, and I suppose if pressed I would say I'm from L.A. However there are MANY things about L.A. that I've never liked (climate, spread out geography, poor public transit, large pollution levels, etc.). And on trips to Chicago I've always felt at home. I honestly think I would fit better in Chicago or on the East Coast (Boston or NYC or D.C.). The main things that keep me tied to L.A. are economics and relationships. If those two things were out of the way I think I'd leave in a heartbeat.

I don't know how we'd have been able to answer this without two maps of the US.

I didn't think I'd have room to put all the states' names in each category at first :p

Not sure if you can really count Florida as part of the South. Geographically it is, but compared to the other southern states its its own country.

Maybe there should be another option for "I disagree with legal recognition of states' divisions into geographic areas"

Although I'm a UKer, California is the only place in the USA that I actually know anything about. The rest of the country is red necks for all I know :p

i've lived in florida my entire life but i certainly do not identify with most aspects of southern culture (also disagreeing with arlol, florida is very much the hub of southern horror and depravity). i live vicariously through my trips to other regions like the west coast and the northeast and my friends who live there.

    You forgot "Other" (New Yorker).

I don't identify with any of the others, or outside of the city. I'm a NYer. :p
