Last CD I got was Nightfall In Middle-Earth (finally). Amazing album.

Aha, Hansi's staff is badass

 

I went to see Apocalyptica (fangirl swoon) and then started listening to Opeth after lurking in that YJCC metal thread. They're awesome btw.

 

I kinda like this band called Moonspell. Never heard them before but, they opened for Dimmu

 

Awesome Finnish folky stuff. Not very famous, but very good.

P.S. Someone mentioned Sacred, I absolutely love the video! My favourite band in a fantasy videogame!
The song itself is good, but it unfortunately has that new-BG-style feel at certain moments that I don't like. Still, much better than most stuff on the 'new' album.

 

Ok, I just realised you were talking about Moonspell, not Moonsorrow. They're ok, too, but Moonsorrow is much cooler band.

 

Any opinions on some of the better Moonspell albums?

 

Think it's time this thing gets upped. Anyone got any good new stuff lately?

 

Not metal related unfortunately. Newest thing I got was someone bought me the newest Hank III cd.

Obituary is coming to Asheville later this year.

Behemoth is working on their new cd already. I'm pretty excited about that.

I've been listening to some old Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids songs a lot lately. Found a bittorent for them the other week.

 

Been listening to a lot of Cemetery of Scream lately. Event Horizon is badasss. Also just got Wolves in the Throneroom's Two Hunters on Vinyl. Also Badass.

Some cool electro-industrial I found a couple months ago, it's pretty sweet. You guys should check it out, especially Gotteskrieger, their first album.

Recording session for new Blind Guardian album

Man I can't wait for this. I only started listening to them a couple years ago but they've quickly become one of my favourite bands.

Just found these guys via their new LP. They've got this strange groove death/thrash/nu fusion thing going on, but it works surprisingly well.

What metal have you been listening to of late?

For me, I'm revisiting "A Determinism of Morality" by Rosetta (I love post-metal) and really loving Baroness' "Yellow and Green" despite some serious mellowing of their sound. I'm also working through Between the Buried and Me's "Paralax II".

And of course, some Varg with Umskiptar.
