Last CD I got was Nightfall In Middle-Earth (finally). Amazing album.

Also, I posted this in the YJCC thread but I should do it here too:

    Blind Guardian - Sacred

I went to see Apocalyptica (fangirl swoon) and then started listening to Opeth after lurking in that YJCC metal thread. They're awesome btw.

Awesome Finnish folky stuff. Not very famous, but very good.

P.S. Someone mentioned Sacred, I absolutely love the video! :D My favourite band in a fantasy videogame! [face_love]
The song itself is good, but it unfortunately has that new-BG-style feel at certain moments that I don't like. Still, much better than most stuff on the 'new' album.

Ok, I just realised you were talking about Moonspell, not Moonsorrow. They're ok, too, but Moonsorrow is much cooler band.

    ;)

Any opinions on some of the better Moonspell albums?

Not metal related unfortunately. Newest thing I got was someone bought me the newest Hank III cd.

Obituary is coming to Asheville later this year.

Behemoth is working on their new cd already. I'm pretty excited about that.

I've been listening to some old Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids songs a lot lately. Found a bittorent for them the other week.

Been listening to a lot of Cemetery of Scream lately. Event Horizon is badasss. Also just got Wolves in the Throneroom's Two Hunters on Vinyl. Also Badass.

    Heimataerde [face_dancing] !

Some cool electro-industrial I found a couple months ago, it's pretty sweet. You guys should check it out, especially Gotteskrieger, their first album.

This really pains me but it is an unfortunate truth:

    [image=http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/7193/p6200626.jpg]

    :(

And a whole NOOOOES topic on the BG forums: Hansi did it again!! Why Hansi? Why!?

Good news though. Apparently BG are now playing Sacred on their gigs.

    Edit: pics failed

In this thread, we discuss permafrost; we try our hand at quantum mechanics aka writing technical death metal, and we are just kvlt as ****.

Things that aren't discussed in this thread:

    1) Not metal.

Things like nu-metal and pop aren't metal. Jim Morrison, by contrast, was metal as ****.

    2) Jesus

Unless Jesus is followed Tod. Or unless you are Dave Mustaine, in which case you're metal as **** (see point #1) and we can't say no.

    3) Avenged Sevenfold

    Please see point #1.

    4) Metallica v Megadeth

As this is a metal thread, there's no debate here. Megadeth won. If you think overwise, you are point #1. Rock fans get butthurt and claim Metallica is better, but they also own Nickelback albums and love Trivium. Point #1, again.

We also pay respect to Abbath, because there's nothing he can't do:

What metal have you been listening to of late?

For me, I'm revisiting "A Determinism of Morality" by Rosetta (I love post-metal) and really loving Baroness' "Yellow and Green" despite some serious mellowing of their sound. I'm also working through Between the Buried and Me's "Paralax II".

And of course, some Varg with Umskiptar.
