Amph Amphitheatres' Metaltropolis (Trial Version 1.0)

Chi Cheng of deftones passed away today.

 

Very sad news.

 

Yeah, very. deftones are my favourite band and I was lucky enough to see them live in the early days, when Chino wasn't super-fat and had blonde hair. I also got an all-access pass to a Vans Warped tour that they played on in Australia around 2000 or so. Met them there. Steph and Abe were hitting on anything female, Chino sat in the corner playing guitar and not interacting with anyone and Frank and Chi were knocking back beers and chatting to the fans.

RIP Chi

 

I'm ashamed to say I've never seen them live. They were actually here in Toronto recently but I wasn't able to make it. Maybe next time....

what happened to him originally? was it a car wreck?

 

Yeah, he was in a car accident and was in a coma since 2008.

 

it's amazing he held on for so long.

 

Just got back from work and learned that Jeff Hanneman has also passed away....oy.

I have been listening to a lot of Death Metal and Deathcore like Abnormality, From Us To Sunset, two female fronted Death Metal and Deathcore, bands, and also Job For A Cowboy and Chelsea Grin. I know I have made a heavy metal thread in the past but I never participated in it to keep it going as much.
From Us To Sunset is a Deathcore band. Sadly, they broke up. They have released an EP, and a single.

Abnormality is a Death Metal band. They are still active and have released an album, Contaminating Tue Hive Mind. It's on iTunes, and you should get it if you like extreme/death metal music. It's great.

What are your thoughts on Varg?

 

I have never listened to any of his music.

 

I'm a fan of all music and definitely dabble here and there in some deathcore/deathmetal music.... Although I am not too fond of the "rabidness" of the "-core" fans, meaning their "X"core is better then "Y"core because of blah blah blah and thats the only way mentality....... but I find something to like in all of it.

I would never play in a band like that though...its just not my preference. I have a cousin who plays in well known band that falls into that scene and I would hate to live in his shadow.....

I am currently forming an all girl metal band. I am the vocalist.

 

Bad ass! How is that project coming along???

 

Good. I already have a drummer and a guitarist. All we need is a bassist.

 

Where are you located??? I might be able to send some bass players your way....
