This chick has 5 posts, all in this thread, and has a deviantart account linked to the profile with some "suggestive" invader zim art. You guys are getting easier and easier to fool.

As far as on topic, no, I'm a black metal person. I do like a little death metal stuff, just a couple of bands, but definitely not deathcore.

Where's AAAAAH when we need him? He has all the Burzums.

I don't mind some death metal, but the more prog side a la BTBAM. Or Amon Amarth for lulz. Not deathcore.

Looks like we share a love of the same genre of music.
I'm really big into Evanescence, Linkin Park, Nickelback and some other really hard metal bands.

oh great, a new kind of terrorist.

anyhooze, i've been listening to a lot of deeds of flesh lately. they are pretty much death metal ice cream, but they're still pretty fun to listen to.

Yeah I saw that. So perfect. So brutal.

I've been listening to a bit of djent lately, in anticipation of the new Animals as Leaders album in March.

i had to look up "djent". so many funny names for these tiny little micro-categories of styles of music.

Makes sense though. Basically you invent crazy time signatures, palm mute things, throw in the odd pinched harmonics and play pentatonic scales with the second guitar. Drummer is drumming against time to create MAD POLYRHYTHMS but lots of double kick.

Guitar One: djentdjent djent djent, djentdjentdjentdjent djent djhent, djent djentdjentdjent <pinched harmonic>
Guitar Two: pentatonic scale 1! Pentatonic scale 2! All in key of downtuned as ****!

We could totally make some djent duende

I saw Animals As Leaders when they opened for none other than Meshuggah. They were pretty cool.

    He tunes the lowest F# to an E, so it goes E B E A D G B E. Allows him to replicate the same octave as a bass guitar's low E.

i just didn't know about 8-string guitars. i knew about the 7-string ones, and i know about pike's 9-string, but that is really just a six string with the top three strings doubled, so it's really kind of a 6+3 string git.

i think if i tried to play an 8-string guitar my hand would cramp up.

It looks more like playing a bass in terms of the hand positioning.

ok i actually just watched that video and yes, you're right, it's more like a bass style of playing. does he not use a pick at all?
