Y'know there has been an odd trend on the boards for the last month or so.

Those critical of NJO have maintained their scepticism yet are being impressed with RD, despite DJ's lack of merit.

At the same time those fans known to be fans of the NJO seem less than happy. There has been dissatisfaction with DJ and now it seems RD is having holes punched in it in the way those critical of the NJO have tended to.

Speaking as a critic where do you fans get off nicking our job of critiquing the NJO? :)

As stated in the title this is not a serious thread. It is a wry comment on a recent trend on the boards regarding NJO fans and critics, one I find quite amusing.

    Anyone else?

    In jest,

    Jedi Ben

Care to elaborate and mention any names, Jedi Ben? ;)

Actually, I didn't find DJ interesting in the least.

However, RD was fun. But having said that, that's really all it was. Fun.

Jebus, I wish you guys would stop using acronyms.

Heh heh, I haven't read either [homer] Stupid college course sucking up all my time [/homer]. Can't seem to find Dark Journey anyway and I just now managed to find Conquest and Rebirth a few weeks ago.

I disliked Dark Journey, finding it the second worst NJO book to date.

In a word Caine: No. :)

I'm not spoiling the fun for a newbie of working out which posters line up which way on particular topics. Pls you might have been lurking so you already know don't you? :)

    Jedi Ben

p.s. Jedi Eclipse tends to be the universally thought NJO stinker!

Calling Jedi Eclipse a stinker is a complement. Though the term is accurate in the case of Dark Journey.

DJ was okay, but RD was one of the best NJO novels to date.

interesting... if this "reversal" is true, then i am somehow immune to it, b/c i thought the whole series was well-written and interesting (even they "killed" my fav' character, it was still well-written, at least) and I like RD

I loved both DJ and RD. I've liked the NJO as a whole, and I've found that it's gotten better with each book. Thts just my opinion, though.

DJ-Was not a book intended for someone such a myself, the emotion Jaina was in all through that book was just to overwhelming. The book also lacked action, and it lacked a deffinet persepctive on the Galaxy. Seeing through the eyes of Jaina was not fun, I hope I never have to do it again.

RD-Very good, lots of action and fleet updates.

"You have strange, strange taste, ReaperFett "

He thinks the best books are those that show Kyp in a neutral to good light! :p

But I thought Dark Tide 2 was the general worst NJO book (even though I liked it), but DJ was the worst book for me. Enemy Lines will probably be the best for me, after reading all the hilarious quotes.

I guess i probably fall into the category of NJO fans that panned DJ then :) however, i loved RD and would have to say that, imo, the worst njo books yet were actually the AoC duology
