Wife and I watched TPM tonight for the New Year. I noticed for the first time (and I have no idea how I missed this before) that Anakin says he came to Tatooine when he was 3 years old, he "thinks." Does anyone know the purpose for that line? Why include it? Why was that part of the story?
Well he was a slave. I assume he traveled to several different masters before Watto. I think he was owned by a Hutt at one time...maybe Jabba?
Probably to give a hint that Anakin and his mother have it rough, I guess. Don't have a stable home to live in peace and everything they own is not permenant. I mean, it doesn't bother me really. It's like the Bothans line, it's really just there to be explained in the EU.
It's to show he's been a slave since he was three. Gardulla the Hutt was his master before Watto, if I remember.
It shows that he and his mother have lived a rough life. That line has also spun the theory that he was born on Naboo to Palpatine.
