Anakin really not that great?

Big question...for the "chosen one", Anakin/Vader really wasn't all that great was he?

Think about it...in his major battles
- hand cut off by Dukoo, knocked out -
- comes back to beat Dukoo...in the grand plan anyway
- had help from Darth Sid to defeat Mace
- Beaten by ObiWon pretty bad...bad enough that he had to wear a suit to help him breathe the rest of his life, and that has to suck.
- Beats ObiWon, but only because ObiWon quits to gain immortality...
- Beats the rookie Luke, who is all of untrained and only what, 21?
- Turns around and loses to Luke, pretty easily in the rematch, and loses his arm AGAIN in the process...

Okay, so his record is what? - 4-3, and 2 or 3 of those were gimmies - only real victory comes against Dukoo???? Wouldn't you think the chosen one looking to bring balance back to the Force could do better?

Thoughts???

 

Considering he did, in fact, bring balance to the Force, I'd say the rest is pretty much irrelevant.

And a 24-year-old boy besting a swordsman with 7 decades of experience under his belt is nothing short of amazing. It's like the Karate Kid winning against Mr. Miyagi
