Anakin Shadow scene.

This happend in Attack of the Clones. I picked up on this the first time I saw the movie, and saw foreshadowing. Remember the scence where Anakin is giving Padme a kiss, and the shadow on his step-father's house shows a semi vador body. Anakin's head shadow kind of looks like vador. Maybe there is nothing to this, or maybe it is too obvious. What say you?

 

They talked about it in the comentary and it really was Hayden's shadow... go figure.

Yes, they didn't even notice it when filming. Not intentional at all.

You sure sj? I figured it was intentional and it looks alittle CGIed with to me.

 

1) It doesn't look intentional, but natural
2) I don't think it looks like Vader at all, it looks like a shadow of Hayden

 

To this day, I can't see any Vader shadow. Can someone photoshop and circle the form?

Anyone find it interesting that Anakin's profile and silhouette now look more like Vader than ever, especially with his 70's long hair?

But they are chit-chatting at the wrong time, alluding to the shadow at the wrong moment.

The shadow looks like Vader just as Padme climbs up the stairs. Anakin, already casting a shadow, turns his head to look at her.

His shadow is spread accross a corner on the wall, and that's when it looks like Vader.


Not before that, not after that - just at the moment that Padme appears on the stairs.

It's the act of him turning his head that causes the shadow to look like Vader.

They didn't do that on purpose, eh?

Ohhhhh. shadow.

 

taht scene was really to shoe some simularity between father and son. both chose to star off into the sunsets at the same place. but the shadow was just dumb luck. but a great peice of forshadowing. especially if you take into account the poster for TPM with jake lloyd and the actual vader shadow.

 

In my experience there's no such thing as luck.

 

That shadow is explained as being natural on the commentary - but it is interesting to see anyways.

 

Come on. That shadow was TOTALLY intentional. They knew what they were doing.

It was a very obvious ploy by Lucas to create the "Vader"-esque shadow.


Very poorily done too. Instead of making it very subtile, they focused way to much on it.

Nothing appears on screen by accident. There is some deliberate intention to the entire setup of the shot and the resemblance to Vader's helmet (I think) cannot be coincidence.

 

i really dun think it looks like a vader shadow... u know wad they say, sometimes ur eyes sees wad ur mind wants u too..

 

dosen't GL say in the commentary just then that it was a reference to the EP1 teaser poster?

I think there's a better pic that makes it a little more obvious. But it was by accident, supposedly.

 

it STILL doesnt look like vader

 

I noticed this when I first saw the movie. And I immediately thought 'foreshadowing'. Of course, I thought Anakin and Padmé were hugging, not kissing.

 

I can kinda see it. But, I have to look real hard. I don't see how everyone saw it upon first viewing.

 

Hayden casting Vaders shadow upon the homestead was the coincidence, GL putting it on film wasn't.

Apparently a report a long time ago mentioned that we'd be seeing alot more of that in Episode III
