I have nothing to add, I just love that quote too.

 

Certainly both characters have a sort of Jesus complex, insofar as both characters convey characteristics evident in many mythologies. Both characters are also split into different personalities, in Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader and in Kal-El/Clark Kent/Superman.

Oops! I didn't mean to imply that Jesus had dual identities or anything. I was actually making two separate points. I guess I should have made two paragraphs.

But now that you mention it, Jesus is part of a Holy Trinity, right? Father/Son/Holy Ghost ... Kal-El/Clark/Superman?

How this can be applied to Anakin, I have no idea.
