Fanclub Anakin Solo Fan Club

I was specifically referring to DNT, LotF and FotJ. I actually loved Destiny's Way and the Force Heretic trilogy. DNT brought the end of NJO to nought, and LotF and FotJ were utter garbage.

 

There were bits of LotF that I've enjoyed, and I thought the initial idea behind the series, to somehow do PT more justice by taking similar themes into a future setting, was quite interesting and had potential. But sadly it didn't really work out.

For a long time, I was really looking forward to the Sword of the Jedi to try and remedy some of the damage done by LotF+FotJ by giving more spotlight to next gen. If Darth Disney decides to continue the Legends timeline, I sincerely hope Christie Golden finished writing SotJ.

So, post NJO aside, what is people's favourite Anakin appearance?

 

The Corellian Trilogy (I still have to track down JJK and read those, it's quite tough where I live). I find it a lot about a young boy with a lot of latent power blundering his way through saving a solar system, which is the epitome of Anakin Solo

 

Conquest. Or JJK.

 

Conquest was the first NJO novel I ever read, and also my favorite, simply because of how prominently Anakin starred in it. He grew in leaps and bounds in both knowledge and ability, and he risked everything to save Tahiri on two occasions in it.

 

It was Conquest that convinced me that JJK was worth looking out for.

 

Conquest is one of my fav SW books

 

Greg Keyes gets SW imo. Or at least Anakin and Tahiri.

 

I personally like to be evil and ship Anakin with the rather misunderstood bad girl Alema Rar lol but I'm also a huge Tahiri fan

I'm a fan of paring him with both (just not at the same time!) as the whole mixing and matching is part of the fun of shipping

 

I wouldn't mind an Infinities series where Anakin and Alema got together.
As long as we have a series where Anakin and Tahiri got together.

 

I don't hate Tahiri in fact I'm a huge Tahiri fan though I wasn't a huge fan of her going evil, I just love to rock the boat and don't see why there can't be a universe where the badgirl gets the guy for once lol

 

I found a fan-fic where Anakin Solo ended up in the TFA universe and might be getting into a relationship with Kaydel Ko Connix or Billie Lourd's character from TFA.

When I first read the NJO my favorite character was Jacen (read the YJK series first and the character always resonated with me) but I really started to enjoy Anakin too about the time I started reading Conquest. I was very dismayed at his death just a few books later; it felt like a lot of wasted potential after all the work Greg Keyes had put into making the character shine. One of my favorite parts of the NJO series was the sibling interaction between Anakin and Jacen, with the conversation between Jacen and "Ghost/Hallucination Anakin" being a particularly great little moment in Traitor. The Solo boys were the future of the Jedi Order and after Denning ruined them both, I gave up hope and interest in any of the Post NJO universe.

I ship him with both... and at the same time too!

Here's a question brought on by a recent conversation about fandom "back in the day".

Do people remember what was the general reception of Anakin Solo back in the time of Junior Jedi Knights and NJO? As in, did the fans complain about the name because we were getting PT centered around another Anakin at the same time? Did it cause any confusion? Or were people happy with the next gen.

While I read some YJK and JJK in my local library while in elementary school, before hoping on the Harry Potter train, I didn't frequent fan forums etc until like 2002, so I've missed those discussions.
