Well, I think he had a closer bond with this droid than R2, because he probably encounterd R4 more often. I think he shouted R4 because it actualy had a personality and acted like a living thing. His relationship with it was probably like a master and a really cute dog.

A faithful astromech built into Obi-Wan Kenobi's assigned Jedi starfighter, R4-P17 assisted the Jedi Knight during his mission to track down Senator Padmé Amidala's attacker. The truncated, dome-headed droid served as onboard astrogator, technician and communications specialist for Kenobi.


EU R4 Info-

R4-P17 started off as a traditional R4 unit, complete with the characteristic conical head, when she was nearly destroyed in a trash compactor mishap on Gyndine. While inspecting the Jedi customizations of the Delta-7 designs, Anakin Skywalker happened upon the wrecked little droid and rebuilt it. The new R4-P17 sported an R2-series dome and would eventually become the prototype for other integrated droid navigators aboard the Jedi Aethersprite fighters.

It says that she is built into Obi-Wans fighter, but im assuming Anakin either took her back, ugraded Obi's fighter as his own, or the one in Ani's SF is the original he fixed and Obis is one of the mass-pruduced ones

There ya Go, thats why it upset him so much, its like someone destroying a un-annoying helpful 3PO who had through a lot with him

 

I believe it is said that the R4 droid with Anakin isn't R4-P17, but some other red R4.
