Moulin Rouge is getting snubbed for best song.

Nice to see LotRs getting nominated for so many, but I kinda doubt it'll win many. Not because it shouldn't, but that's just the way the academy goes for sci-fi/fantasy films.

Poor Ewan, he was great in Moulin Rouge! His character was sweet, subtle, and sexy.

AS for LOTR, what can I say...The movie was great. However, I do agree with Kurgan, It won't win many. It deserves best picture. I also hated how BHD was snubbed! And yes, Orlando Bloom as Legolas to me was worth an Oscar nod, LOL!

I hate to say this, but I think it's because Nicole Kidman is female and what happened to her character at the end. Hollywood loves a great tragic heroine. I really enjoyed Ewan's singing a lot. I had no idea he could sing at all! Oh and am I the only one that thinks Nabooty looks a bit like Ewan Mcgregor?!?! I swear, when he was clean shaven, he could have colored his hair a shade darker and presto! Ewan Mcgregor. Oh, course then again I could be wrong or a bit one sided...

Come what may.... Yes I will love Orli, come what may.

Well, I just thought I'd make a small observation.... I've wanted to tell Brian that for a long time, but it never really came up until now. Actually with the beard, Brian looks like AOTC version of Obi-wan. Yummy!!

Ooooo and I love the Valentines day theme for the board.

Well, it comes from being City Rep and wanting to do a...

//raises arms as if tied to a post above his head...

Looks to the right, then up at his hands, then back to the right...

    ...good job ;)

Back on topic, I saw BlackHawkDown last night. Very well done, very intense, and not too preachy. Ridley Scott definitely deserves the Oscar nod for this, though Baz Luhrman imo was robbed. He pulled off a spectacular musical, that even people like me (who loathe musicals) really enjoyed.

Still making up my mind on the other awards, though...

I feel for the director, Baz has made some good movies. I really liked Romeo and Juliet, alot. I cried about 5 times when I first saw that movie and I never cry at movies! BHD isnt really my type of movie. War movies bore me to death. I just went to go see it because Orli and Ewan were in it. However, for a war movie it was pretty good.

And yes, Brian, we are happy to have such a "talented" and pleasing city rep. (lol!)
