Hi. Here is the first one. The reason why I call them Photo Manipulations is because of what I do with them in Paint. I'll explain more later.

That's lovely! She looks a lot like Arwen.

Thats really cool. I'm guessing that is based on Arwen, Liv Tyler has a very distinct face.

That and the very distinct Elven jewelery used for the LotR films. :p

Mara looks wonderful! I would love to hear how you did that, especially if you're using a program like Paint. The best thing I can do with Paint is make splashes of colours and geometric shapes. :p

Well! I never thought I'd get this many replies! Thank you all! How I did this required just a few steps. As so many of you have guessed, my base was Liv Tyler.

    The Process

    1. I searched 'Arwen Queen' on Yahoo! Images and saved a copy of it.

    2. Then I opened it with Paint along with a photograph of Mara Jade, (Or at least someone's idea of what she looks like.)

    3. Then I used the pick color tool and picked a color on her face. I then used the paintbrush to color all the areas with that color over the top of the photo.

    4. For the red hair I pasted the picture of Mara next to Arwen and carefully used the right highlights and dark tones to give her the red color. (usually I do the hair first.)

    5. The crown was one of my favorite parts of the outfit so I saved it and did it a monochromatic color. (In this case a silver white.)

    6. I leave the original whites of the eyes as they are and use the zoom tool to change the eyes, using the smallest paintbrush size possible. (I tried to stay within a couple shades of the original green, I've found that it looks more realistic that way. The yellow was a surprise, I didn't realize that yellow would make the green so intense.)

TIP: Don't pick the darkest shade first with the pick color tool. It makes the skin look too fake. Use the lighter shades and go slowly, don't rush. Be careful around the lips and if you make a mistake don't freak out. Just close it without saving and begin again.

:) The process requires lots of patience but the results can be very rewarding. @};-

    Hi,
I don't know if there is a commission thread or something like that so...

Would someone be willing to attempt a drawing of this description for me?

Luke walked up to Avery, ignoring his pain. His expression was filled with sorrow and guilt. He very lightly reached out and touched Avery's face, his finger coming away with a single glistening teardrop. He looked at it with a torn expression and said softly, painfully, "I don't deserve this."

That would be great if someone could. I'm not that great at these things.

Hey, here is an update. This one is a drawing with pencil done about two months ago. I'm pretty happy with it.

Another pencil drawing. I was using that book How to Draw Star Wars. My dad didn't like it but I did better than usual with it.

I think it's a nice piece :) I think making your details (facial features/winkles, the difference between the shadow and the hood) more visible would help.
