Yes, though it's fair to say that if stuff appears in the novel but not the film, then its unlikely to be a crucial hint

I also remember reading a comment from Pablo that the films canon supersedes the novel canon.although they are both canon.

Yes. When in conflict, the films win.

That's silly... SNOKE is an acronym, but my sources tell me it stands for:
    Simply Nobody... OK, it's Ezra

    Really? I heard:

    Simply Nobody...OK, it's Evazan.

There's a reason he's so keen to find and destroy Luke. A very personal reason...

Yes, that one sounds very plausible too.

She may have. Luke had dealings with people like Lor San Tekka in his quest for Jedi knowledge, and he in turn knew Leia and offered a piece of the map to Luke to "make things right."

It's possible Snoke could have been another figure that Luke had met.

In Rebels we have Bendu bestowing wisdom on Kanan.

In Son of Dathomir, it's mentioned that Sidious and Talzin exchanged knowledge in the past.

Maz is not a Jedi yet knows of the Force and shares some knowledge with Rey.

    Lor San Tekka helped Luke.

Cooperation between sects/religions is not new. There's 30 years where Luke could be running around trying to seek out knowledge in order to train future Jedi.

Snoke could have easily have been someone that worked with him/shared knowledge with him.

It's implied that Luke was away from the Jedi Temple when Ben betrayed his fellow students. Snoke may have led him away.

30 years is even a long enough time to have fully trained a Jedi, as Obi-Wan's apprenticeship was 25 years. Anakin's was approximately 10. Luke became a Jedi in about 4 years (which really consists of minimal time with Obi-Wan and Yoda).

Snoke, if he presented himself as a friend, realistically could have been trained by Luke for years.

Palpatine had his eyes on Anakin for 13 years before turning him, all the while influencing him.

There's potential for Snoke to have been in Luke and Ben's life for much longer.

I just have a hard time picturing Snoke being trained by anyone in recent years looking at him. I still doubt it but I could buy into a scenario where Snoke presented himself to Luke as this old wise figure that had mastered the force and he was strong enough mentally to keep Luke from knowing his true background much like Palpatine did with the Jedi Council.

We don't know the time table of his damage though. He could have been crippled 10 years before TFA or 100 years before TFA.

I think Snoke is from a planet in the Unknown Regions that the remnants of the Empire who went to the Unknown Regions found and formed the First Order with. Maybe at one point Snoke tried to have his planet join the Republic while secretly supporting the First Order which is why some characters acted like they knew Snoke previously. Just one theory I thought of.

PLZ don't let Snoke be Obi-Wan.

Old Ben is my 2nd favorite.

Someone please correct me if I'm remembering wrong, but this image that Zeroh is using of Serkis with the staff isn't an image from SW but from some other film.

If so, it just demonstrates why Zeroh should be seen as a manipulator of his audience, not a "fun" weirdo.
