As I said earlier, last year (or so) there were rumors that there would be a character in Rebels who had some kind of link to Episode VII. The rumors also said that David Oyelowo would be the actor who had a role in both.

I think its also possible that Serkis is playing the Inquisitor, through mo-cap, and Oyelowo will be voicing the character. The Inquisitor could very well be the one/someone who is still in control/command of some Imperial forces by this time, he is an alien so you can explain why he is alive, still in his prime etc...

"Actors in the new Star Wars film are banned from taking their scripts home because of strict confidentiality rules.

Andy Serkis, whose role in the seventh instalment of the sci-fi saga remains secret, said the cast are not allowed to "wander off" with their copies.

Serkis, 50, who played Gollum in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, said: "Security is very, very tight."

He added that it was a relief to finally be able to tell people he is in the film."

Andy Serkis playing a live action character in a major movie franchise? What madness is that?! ;)

nah...if he's playing a live action character than that's great too. But I'm still hoping for Sith Lord Gollum

I like the whole look. The beard and the long hair tied in back. I could definitely see him as one of Luke's first students. The Mace to Luke's Yoda.

There is no doubt that Serkis will portray at least one mo-cap character, but this doesn't exclude him from playing other parts.

I'm hoping he is going to be the alien/robotic sidekick of the young characters.

This would all be quite hilarious if Serkis just ended up playing some regular human guy...as himself. People getting all worked up over his CGI work. I would literally LAUGH at the screen!

I'd love it if he played a cg character *and* got some screen time as "himself" as well.

See I like to think that Serkis is playing an alien whose species are a bunch of professional motion cap actors.

Most pics I've seen have the actor being clean shaven but who knows...technology probably can get around a beard if needed.
