Pfft There are no apostrophes, amature. If the EU taught me anything, it's that you can't have a name with that many letters but no apostrophes.

 

I don't like any of the names but I accept them all, as character and story are more important than someone's name. As long as he's a great, interesting character and it would be nice if he's also a 2 dimensional villain then I'm good.

 

I loved how The Empire Strikes Back Yoda action figure, back in '80, came with a snake around his neck. Snakes all over Dagobah is such a minor touch that makes the setting of Dagobah (speaking of incredible names) feel like a place where good and evil coexist in harmony.

 

Clearly he'll also be known as Darth Vaper.

 

Plus we already had...

Nute Gunray, which wasn't even a clever hide on Nute Gingrich

General Grievous, pretty goofy name when you just look at it on the surface. Not Knowing the character as we do now.

Count Dooku = Count Dracula
Same Actor, role that made him famous!

It's actually a great literary name because of its doubled nature.

It's more complex than "Sidious."

 

While we're talking names is Nostalgia Guy good old Toa Zaz reborn and wearing new socks again?

Palpatine had duel identities, as did Dooku.
Not taking it into account but Darth Plaguies was already presumed dead as Hego Demask.
So false identities are a running theme here.

maybe if it was spelled like Snook then you would say it like the Fish I was catching and will be catching when I move to Florida next month, I believe Snoke will be pronounced Like Smoke?

Honestly, if someone leaked out the name " Supreme Leader Snoke", how hard would that person be laughed at?

 

I don't think it is any weirder then the names from the previous movies and I am sure all the new names will grow on me. What did you all think when you heard the name, Count Dooku? But he turned out to be a really cool under used, under rated character!

 

The name Snoke makes me think the word, Snork
