I was listeing to an MP3 disk, with all the music from all movies (copied from MY OWN BOUGHT COLLECTION OF ORIGINAL DISKS ;) )

anyhow, the track 13 was playing (on CD1)
or also called: "BINARY SUNSET (ALTERNATE)"

anyhow, the music ends at 02:l7

but at 05:02.. you can hear a voice, saying "take 16" folowed by a little different Main Theme (added beginning) and then a lot of other music, including the Final scene, then 07:27 he says "take 17" and continiues for a pretty long time.

    anybody else noticed this ???

    comments ??

who is this misterious voice, and why is it on the disk ? ;)

GK edit: Just to note this earlier thread on this topic. :)

It's Satan telling you to rebel against your parents.

Naaaah, it's either JW or the recording guy (not sure which), and it's the CD's little surprise for you -- an alternate look at the main theme.

    Rick McCallum loves you!

screaming "old news" really loud would probably be very rude, so I'll just say congrats and "You've made your first step into a larger world" ;)

    vlps -

Minus one point for not knowing about the extra recordings.

But plus one point for not calling them "songs". :)

I have the "deluxe" version of the SE cds. They have booklets inside. Page 18 of the ANH booklet tells you about the "mystery" tracks. ;)

Maybe the jewel case cds don't come with a booklet (which would be a shame, because [frenchtaunter]"It's very nice"[/frenchtaunter])...

Anyone have the jewel case version?

Well, do what I do and edit the track into several tracks!

I was going to say that I don't have the software to do that, but then I realized that I do. I could just rip the track in a WAV and chop it up in Sound Recorder. Then, convert to MP3s (320 bitrate, of coure) and there you have it!

The first take (take 16) is simply amazing to listen to, mainly because the woodwind parts are so incredibly pronounced. Listen after the "interlude" to the restatement of the main theme - hear those woodwinds go! Unbelieveable stuff, and I've got the score for it sitting in front of me as we speak. Lots of purdy dots there. ;) Go clarinets!

Ah don't wanna talk to you no more, you cheesy lot of second-hand electric donkey bottom biters!

    :D

Isn't Track 16 the first time the SW theme was ever recorded? I'm sorry, it's too late, and I'm too tired to look at the book.

And I'm sorry, vlps, but you've only JUST noticed this? Some SW fan you are!?! :p
