Don't know if its been brought up before, but wouldn't it be cool to have a few animated avatars? I'm not sure if its possible on these boards, though. Does anyone know if this has been brought up or if its even possible?

I'm sure it's possible, but I don't think it should be done. Animation on websites is typically distracting and annoying.

This has come up before. I believe it was rejected due to such factors as it being annoying and that it's murder on slow connections.

yes, it has been suggested before, no, it's not going to happen: file size is bigger than the current icons, and they would be annoying.

Given the redundancy of a lot of these things, I think the lack of RAM is the main problem.

I believe and so do many other people that animated avatars are distracting, and take too much time to load up for people with slower connections. This has been discussed before and rejected.

So what if its been discussed prior, I say lets do it! Mainly cause we've come so far with Icons, I mean look at the Widescreen ones just created last year. So what about connections! I say if the computer can't handle it, get a new one!

It's been talked about before. Basically, animated icons (avatars) can be rather annoying if they don't have a time off setting to them.
