AICN broke some interesting news, assuming it pans out. Word on the street is that an animated series of The Clone Wars may be in the works:
There have been top secret meetings between Lucasfilm and Cartoon Network, and they are in ADVANCE DISCUSSIONS to do an immense animated series called CLONE WARS. The time frame is still being discussed as either starting the year before Episode 3 hits theaters, or the Summer of Episode 3. Lucas is negotiating for a huge 50-60 episode order!!!

That's awesome. I'm still waiting for my Rogue Squadron animated series.

 

i think rouge squadron should be made with the same style a bab5. that would be so awesome.

Okay so now I know what to ask Santa for this year...

I was just thinking about that recently, with all the cool cartoons out now Lucas would be silly not to cash in on that market with something other than 'Droids'... the adventures of Anakin and Padme!

 

Lucas should hire the team that did Exosquad to work on this new Clone Wars series.

 

Nah...Either WB (look at the awesome job their doing with Batman, Superman, Justice League) or go outside and get some bombass Japanese anime company to do it.

Hopefully they will avoid Nelvana studios completely.

 

They may do a cartoon, but I know Lucas has said he would never let Star Wars turn into another Star Trek or Battlestar Galatica (which they tried to sue) so who knows whats up. Knowing the way these things go its all rumor until ILM says otherwise. If it is true look for an informant arrest warrent.

Cool, but I wanted all CG like that one show based off that one movie about those bugs that shoot crap(literally) into the air and kill you.

i don't think the yoda thing would be a good idea. it would be like going back in time to the movie. the show should be seperate.

 

With the rumor that the Clone Wars are happening in real time, speculation is that Lucas might put out stuff, books, cartoons, etc. chronicoling(sp?) the Clone War. Since EP3 will be the last ever, maybe he is creating anticipation.
