Animated GIFS

I noticed that most of the Icons here a .gifs . Also, using the "post an image" option you can post animated gifs. So, by resonable logic shouldnt we be able to have animated avatars?

 

Also, using the "post an image" option

We can post images other than the [IMAGE] tag?

 

The problem with animated avatars is

1)they're annoying to look at constantly

2)they kill the page download time for people that aren't on broadband

I don't think we should have them here at all.

Seriously, I agree with Salty. They are simply annoying as hell to look at.

 

This is like the 18th thread about this. The answer was no. Even if there was a chance at changing this, without Grilled-Sarlacc (the icon king) here, it's pointless.

 

Kadue is taking over the icons while G-S is gone, but I agree with most everyone else above who stated that they would simply be annoying to look at.

I do not care for animated avatars...but how about some animated smiley's?

You made two mistakes in your animated .gif, I find that highly disgraceful.
Why, you could have made at least 3 or 4 more mistakes... And you even spelt 'admin' correctly.

In all honesty, I never made that thing. It isn't even on my webspace. Rest assured that if I ever created such a gif, it would be as close to incomprehensible as possible.

 

I'm sorry, but it would only be a matter of time before that damn dancing banana showed up and that sparks a vicious rage in me every time I see it.
