Somebody told me that they changed the Annoo-Dats' appearance from the Droids cartoon (Tigg Fromm/Syze Fromm)for these comics. Can anyone confirm this? Was there any explanation given in the comic?

And can anybody post a picture of an Annoo-Dat from the Jango GN??

    Please.

I don't have one, nor am I very familiar with the character you're speaking of from Droids, but I own the ZW GN and will get some scans for you. :)

I wasn't aware of the connection to the Droids cartoon when I read the Zam Wessell GN, but I found the alien creepy. Great art, but creepy. ;)

Compared to Sise Fromm, they look pretty strikingly different. I mean, the only thing that is similar are the four eyes. General Khorda looks more like a deformed bird to me.

Looks like a spiny Trandoshan with extra eyes.

    No problem, Lawg. :)

Hehe... since I scanned them and all, I figured I might as well make an icon or two from them... :D

Ahh, cool. I still say your third Vergere icon should be put up on the JC.

Wait a sec, you made my Syal icon?! Good work. :D

Thanks. :D I'm somewhat obsessed when it comes to making icons. I have to work to control my urge to make icon after icon sometimes. :p ;)

So, about the topic... What are the differences in the appearance of this character? What role did he play on the cartoon series Droids?

The character in the JF comic didn't appear in the Droids cartoon, but the Anoo-Dat species did.

They look nothing alike. I hate it when there is discrepencies like that, but I'm sure Dan Wallace or someone will come up with some kind of explanation.

    At least I hope so.

racial variation, like the official fix for the bothans.

"Such diversity of appearance may be due to racial variations among the scattered Bothan clans."-starwars.com

Ah, I see. I've only see one Droids tape, and I don't think that species was in it. Could be though, it's been a while since I watched it.

Dan Wallace does do good fixes. I like it when he/others make stuff fit. :D Anyway, the Bothan stuff from TOS makes since. Also, there certainly are many kind of Twi'leks. ;)

Hmm, I'd say that two different sentient species developed on their planet. Kind of like calamari.

Maybe one is the Annoo, and the other the Dat? And offworld, both are known as the Annoo-Dat? :)

They both are reptilian, so the two divergent species theory works for me. We'll just have to PM Dan and get him to make notice of it for the next time a SW Encyclopedia or something comes out. :)

    anoo-dat

The cartoon one doesn't really look reptilian to me, just has green skin(or blue in marvel comic), and some red splotches(green skin does not equal reptilian), and they seem to have only 2 eyes, and what look like two line of tatoos under their eyes(from the sources I've seen, it's a line and a curl). As well, the nose is 3 tube nostral thing. They have pointy ears. Regular teeth.

The comic species, has brown scales, a more dinosaur like appearance, 2 nostrals. 4 eyes, and no ears, and sharp fangs, and horns.

So without a bit more evidence, saying that both are reptiles is a bit hard to believe. So the odds are they are not divergent races, or species. But two seperately evolved sentient species from two lines of animals.

Its unfortunate to even need a fix.

What's the point of using an established name if you're going to represent them so different visually?

The Zam species looks cool, but they just should have named them something different.
