Hi, my Star Wars and Indiana Jones Fanfilm is now (finally) finished. You can view it and/or download it from my website at www.fiddlerstudios.com or go directly to the site: http://films.fiddlerstudios.com/terra-cotta

There's a flash version to view, or click the "Video" link on the left to download in other formats (iTunes & Windows Media). Some of you may have seen the "Xian River" sequence of this film way back when we completed it and had just that section available. We later went back and filmed and added the rest of the film around it. Sorry in advance that that part doesn't have quite the same production value as the rest of the film.

Thanks to a few old timers on these forums and this site for getting me started way back when. I don't hang around here much anymore, but it still holds a special place for me in helping to get me started and all.

Hope you enjoy it. Let me know if you do... post elsewhere if you don't (just kidding ;)).

Here's an image just so you can get some kind of feel without visiting the site (though hopefully it'll make you want to):

Also, anyone know if there is a way to submit your film as news to Fanfilms.com?

I think I did lightning for this. Like, four years ago.

Yeah Fig, you did. When Jax Skywalker's lightsaber gets wet and wont turn on, you did the lightning effects showing its short-circuiting. We've gone back and expanded that 7 minute sequence into an almost 30min short film! And the production value is much better on the parts we added around that sequence (except of course, your effects from "the river" sequence, still hold up). Thanks so much for your help way back! It really makes that scene work.

EDIT: If some people are not taking a look at my movie because its just kinda long, maybe you'd want to see the trailer for it first? You can on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U9KTo2f7poQ or there's a higher quality version on the website http://films.fiddlerstudios.com/terra-cotta/

Interesting; did you use any FXHome products for this?

Yes, I used VisionLab Studio extensively for almost all compositing, lightsabers, lasers, some muzzle flashes, jet engines, etc. etc.

Anyone care to watch? It's getting 4.5 stars (out of 5), and lots of views and positive comments over at the FXhome.com cinema.

I watched it, I really enjoyed it. Fun movie that wasn't quite super-serious but an enjoyable 30 minutes. I recommend this, great effort. 5/5

Sorry, I would have posted earlier but I was only just able to watch the film. Been a busy couple of weeks.

I thought it was pretty good. I have only three small critiques; in the first fight scene at about 9 minutes in.

    1) When he shoots the guy that pops out, the cut from Indy to the guy getting hit needs to be a fraction of a second shorter.

    2) When the Jedi/Sith draw lightsabers, the blades should extend a bit more quickly. (If you watch the movies it happens within 8 frames)

    3) At around 10min 30sec, the "Duel of the Fates" music comes in a second or two too early before cutting back to the Jedi-Sith battle.

That's it. Just three little things. Nothing big.

My favorite scene is when they're in the water and the Jedi is trying to get his saber to work. [face_laugh] Funny.

Oh, and your name in the credits, along with the name of your production company caught my eye, and now I have to say: RULDS2?

The website for the film has been updated! There's now reviews of the film (including one from here, thanks Uki). There's also space for bonus features which we are working on right now, and will be added soon. Plus there's a new wallpaper of the badguys from the film.

If you haven't seen the film, check it out at: http://www.fiddlerstudios.com/terra-cotta

or just go to www.FiddlerStudios.com and click the Terra-Cotta Soldier graphic.
