Announcing: The TFN Jedi Outcast Server

Jp and I were playing JO today - but it was on CTF and we couldn't get it to FFA. It sucked.

Any suggestions?

We resorted to playing in a NZ server for 5 mins until JP had to go.

Also, JP was unable to IP connect to me. What are the requirements for him to join me?

JK was far easier.

 

What does it mean when the server says uses protical 16

 

Yeah...that game gets stuck on CTF more times than not. Usually my friends and I just ignore the CTF part.

And I didn't mean swearing. I meant flaming to the point that one cannot play on the server.

Edit- Oh, and I absolutely agree JK was easier. And also, I found that the lag is so bad when you connect directly to another person, as opposed to a server, you can't even play.

But I do like playing it on a server, it's way better than I remember Jk at times, anyway.

 

Protocols(SP?) are different versions. You probably need the patch.

 

Protocol 16:
Patch 1.04 http://support.lucasarts.com/patches/jedioutcast2.htm

CTF/FFA:
Solution 1: Talk to a Server Admin
Solution 2: Do the following with voting:
-1) Change GameType to FFA/CTF
-2) If Changing to FFA, vote for "Map Restart".
-3)If changing to CTF, vote for "Map Restart" if you're on a CTF map, otherwise vote a map that is CTF

Flaming:
Solution 1: Talk to a Server Admin.
Solution 2: Ignore them
Solution 3: Run the game at a higher resolution. When I bumped mine to 1280x1024 I often not notice the text in the upper right, it's so small.

If you're getting flaming, take a few screenshots. Talk to me. Preferabbly while they're still playing so I can observe it/investigate it. I'm having a party week at my house (no rents), and don't want to be bothered by this crap. But I have a responsability to the server. This adds up to my spending 30 seconds not investigating it, banning them for a bit, yelling at them, threatening, and, if it's a Server Admin, who I would be very disappointed with, well you're no longer an admin, and I'm not even guaraenteeing you'll ever play on the server again.
Oh, yea. Trick me, and you're gone.
Consider this a warning going out to everybody. And show it to them too.

Hehehe...if only the JC mods gave such original advice for how to deal on the boards, instead of the constant background hum of "contact us, contact us, Big Brother will care for you"

 

With JA only about two weeks away I was curious if the JO server will eventualy change over to JA?

 

Rrrreeeaaallyyy hope so.

 

I'm confused.

I thought this server thing would be just one big game, but there's like 600 little games. Can anyone who wants to create their own little game within this IP server thing?

Never mind. I was looking under internet, not favorites.

There's only 4 maximum players there, though. And it's full. Well, it was. Then the maximum said 0. What's going on here?

Actually, all the info I found out from network connections was 68.87.131.214. But I entered that into JO multiplayer and it told me the port, too. Hmm.

 

Hrm It's been awhile sine I've been there I'll look at it when I get a chance and see if I can add more players.

 

I tried to join yesterday and it wouldn't let me.

BTW, capture the flag is the greatest variant of JO.

 

How do you guys feel about trading in our JO server for a JA server?

No, JA is out tomorrow and thought the idea of the switch from JO to JA, in regards to the server, should be fresh in peps minds.

And what about people who don't *have* JA? I mean come on, TFN's one of the best servers on the web, what are we sposed to do now?!?

 

What? I don't have the game either. For that matter, nor does anyone outside of the US and Canada (legally).
