I thought it was cool to have this at Ross Rec this year?

Sat. Aug 23 Ross Rec pavilion.

We'd have a concession house avail to us with a full stove, frig, etc. There is a baseball field beside it and a really nice playground.

    and oh yeah...FREE!

    :)

That sounds like a great plan. Is the Aug 23rd date set in stone?

    okay, Aug. 23 it is.

Now we just need folks to announce what they are bringing, food wise.

I will bring some sort of side dish type thing. Whatever looks good in the Giant Eagle Deli that day.
Also, I still have paper plates and plastic ware left over from last year, so I will bring those also.

Yes, I think that would be a good idea. I'll get right on that.

I was thinking of asking any other group that's coming to bring a dish/desert representing their fandom.

Hi everyone! I'm Cate from the Browncoats group. Thanks for extending the invitation to us - I can't speak for everyone, but I'd love to join you all at the picnic. Was going to ask what to bring, but this...

    ...sounds awesome. :)

I'll have to get Jim on that. He's our resident Trek dish cook/desert maker.

I might try to make that blue stuff that Aunt Beru was serving right before Luke stormed off and discovered that R2 was gone. It looked like a blue milkshake, but i like the idea of a blue mudslide.

I hope we have a good turnout for this. If so we should encourage fandom groups in other cities to do the same in 2009!

Well, I know the Trek group can't make it because they are going camping that same weekend.

So who is planning on being in attendance?

We will prob bring Burger King food again, and there is already one grill at this pavillion, though I think it's pretty small.

That is correct. I didn't know that you already had the info. I was waiting to tell you till I knew for a fact that the camping trip was set in stone. It would have been fun to get us all together again.

Don't forget, this is 'covered dish.' Bring a snack type food or a side dish or dessert or beverage (non-alcoholic). The King is providing the burgers and chicken. Picnic starts around noon and goes until whenever.
