JCC [anonymous poll] Who did you vote for in the election?

So now that the deed is done and we're about to welcome the new president, I feel now is a good time to fess up about who you actually voted for. Or if you didn't vote at all. I think it would be best if we didn't actually say in the thread, but it's up to your discretion. I just don't want to see anyone getting stoned because of their choice.

 

Because there wasn't any interesting, off-the-wall (in the vein of Roseanne, whom I voted for in 2012) off-party candidates to my liking, I voted for Hillary; probably should have let the spot blank.

 

What would that have achieved?

 

A small protest (non) vote against the Electoral College.

Oh by the way...if this was your goal (and with the benefit of hindsight), then doesn't your vote for Hillary go much further towards protesting the Electoral College than leaving it blank? Actually I'm not sure how leaving it blank says anything about the E.C. to begin with. So you sorta accidentally got what you wanted.

 

As I said in the Presidential election thread, I voted for Joe Biden.

I'm in CA and so Hillary was obviously going to win by millions of votes. So I voted for the person I actually wanted as President. Had I been in a swing state, I would have voted for Hillary.

Well...I would say it was shortsighted not to vote for Hillary Clinton if you happened to agree with most of her agenda. Sure, maybe she'd only give you half of what you want, but that's better than...you know...Donald Trump.

My disillusionment with the GOP began in part in '05, and its been a free fall ever since; last real straw occurred with McCain's selection of Palin as his VP nominee. Can't say that there aren't conservative-ish leanings occasionally (particularly on California/L.A.-area issues), but so much has changed since I voted for Bush in the '04 election.
