Anonymous Users?

In that thread, one of the posts was made a by a user dubbed Anonymous who did not have a registration date or a profile linked to by clicking the user name. They've since changed it from anonymous to Dexter_Rogue, but I'm curious as to the phenomenon behind this occurrence.

 

It's a glitch that occurs now and then. Sometimes a poster will show up as anonymous, but usually a refresh of the page clears it up and reveals. It's happened to me before, on my own posts! Nobody is ever really anonymous, though.

 

It's just a glitch that happens. Sometimes usernames come up as "Anonymous" but if you refresh the page it'll go back to normal.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet. It's just a glitch that happens. Every once in a while usernames come up as the name "Anonymous" however that usually goes away if you just refresh the page.

 

I'm pretty sure it's been brought up before. But it's definitely been a while.

It's just a board setting that is turned off on every board. When you do see it, there's just a glitch in the server that bumps it on for a second. Even if you see anonymous names, we can still see the real names.

 

There are some posts about it in the Comms Tech thread. I've had it happen to my own id as well. I was in MS at the time and it looked real weird!

 

It happens in the Admin log from time to time as well. Not a problem.


The real problem is a guy called Abstain.

 

You people never use the 'glitch in the matrix' line anymore. WHAT HAPPENED COMMS?
