Here is an episode III version of yoda i've been working on for a while in BLender. After several attempts i think i finally got it right. He still needs bumpmapping for his wrinkles and also hair. I hope you like it. I'm also going to do facial animation on him.

Actually, I think the modeling on him is absolutely perfect, it still needs material stuff like SSS, hair, more skin stuff. But besides that--he's perfect.
Are you going to do the full body?

Actually i have a full body done, fully rigged, except for the spine. The body isn't that great but if i ever put clothes on it, then it won't matter. I also have a lightsaber in the model. I'll post pictures soon.

Very accurate. The expressions are great. The one thing I could see improving, modeling-wise, would be around his mouth, which needs more wrinkles.

Definitely some great work. How long have you been working on him?

I started to make a Yoda about a year ago, then abandoned it. I went back to him a few months ago and picked up where i left off, but realized the modeling was horrible. So i started over, improving on it. It was still really bad. I finally got some good refernces and started over again, eventually finishing with this version.

About the mouth. I'm going to start the texturing for the wrinkles soon, so it will look better once i do that.

It's really the most accurated Yoda (ep III style) head i've seen to date :)

but what I wonder about (it might be a silly stupid question)

how do you make the wrincles??

just face modeling? or bump mapping??? or something else?

I'm just going to use bumpmapping for the rest of the face. I'm not that good at texturing though so it might take a while.

    Absolutely awesome.

DarthRicmu, I, too, thought the Episode III Yoda was different from the Empire Yoda until I compared the faces. Now I think they are both identical.

Here are some more updates. I finished his clothes, but the cloak needs some work. I also modeled his gimer stick.

I fixed all the links the best I could. The markup code on these forums are wacky sh(*&^=it.

    Very good EP2-EP3 likeness.

Thanks for all the compliments and criticisms. You were right about the hand, Lightsaber_Monster. His whole body was too dark. So here's a slight update

Really loving this yoda! I assume your using MAX? And from all the different poses, that he has a biped already attached to him?
