People die in car crashes, but we don't see the government trying to take away our cars. Why would they do so for our guns?

Actually, when people die over and over for the same reasons in cars, they do change things about the way people are allowed to use them. For instance, the widespread implementation of seat belt laws and airbags. One can also point to regulations about driving while intoxicated or at certain age extremes. The rules and regulations ensure that those who use cars do so safely. What are you talking about?

If the government is capable of setting up a patsy for something like this, then they are much more competent than I would have given them credit for. You'd think they'd at least apply that sort of competence to other areas. But maybe they're just pretending to be incompetent. Hmm.

Of course Obama will come up with a speech about guns and mental health care and all that. He's expected to do that.
