FF:WA Any Dates in mind for the next meet ?

Just wondering if there's any dates that anyone has in mind for the next official outer rim meet
Is there any official business that we need to discuss?

Agreed. It was a fun meet, but more people would have made it a lot better.
We'll have to make sure we do better than that at the meet with Grieyls. A few people have suggested a few good ideas to me for meets. I'll start a thread soon to discuss/plan some of them.

 

A lot of clubs (SW and non) are suffering from lower attendances these days. Sometimes its a lack of promotion of the event, other times its because of the Internet.

Remember this basic rule of thumb for fan club meetings: If you get 10% or more of your membership attending a club meeting, you've done well.

 

for a Star Wars club maybe but in the Star Trek club I was a member we worked on 50% and normaly exeeded it.
dont get me wrong this has nothing to do with which is better (hell lets not start that one again) but simpley Star Trek is still on tv so its popularity is still alive.
Better to have one episode a week then one episode every 3-4 years.

As much as I like ST I would rather sit and wait 3 years for a SW movie, than wait for a SW series on TV.

 

Back to the original topic.
If Grieyls is not coming until the end of June then I suggest we have another meet before then. I have no idea of when and where, I'll leave that to be discussed in comitee.

 

As I mentioned on another forum, I think we could have a couple of less formal meets until then. One I've suggested is a video night over our place on Friday 25th. All invited. Bring some munchies/drinks. I'll start a new thread on it just in case anyone misses this and the other thread. Anyone else can feel free to organise another informal meet at another time too.
Our meets don't always have to be highly organised funcions. Let's face it, attendance lately at the organised meets hasn't been great. so let's just have a few get togethers where we can all get to know each other better. I know a lot of people (myself included) spend a fair bit of time chatting with friends from the other state forums but I think it's important to get a bit of local socialising hapenning.
