    I can :p

(I would talk French, but I've already had an overload today. Ne...ni...ni, especially. Although I had no idea before this that the French had integrated Monty Python into their language :p )

Yeah, well, we did manage to make it as bad as the Americans here...

Sometimes I think that "StarWars" was translated with a singular because of the of the awful alliteration in "é" it avoided... "LEs guErres dEs Etoiles", yuck, too many similar sounds in a single title...

    HA! too funny!

Raja_Io, The most important thing for you to keep in mind when learning French, is the fact that direct translation will hinder the immersion process. I know you are probably in French 1 or something like it, (i never heard of banned dictionary use, it is essential in my class) but one cannot effectivly master French without thinking how one would say something with the French grammer structure they are learning. Especially with the vocabulary that one has mastered.

I hope that helps. PM me if you have any questions.

    You guys are really... 8-}

Thanks for good advice, benkenobi1. I think the worst thing is that I learn three languages, and what's even worse that's French and German... [face_tired]

BTW, how do you say "I suck at French"?

[face_laugh] No, that doesn't mean anything actually.

"Je suis nul en français" should do the trick.

Just replace "nul" with a certain expletive :p

That is always apt for me :p

    Or

Tu peux dire - Je suis un cancre en français.

But "cancre" is the kind of word only teachers use. Not students. ;)

Bon, on la leur dit, l'expression qu'ils rêvent de connaître sans oser la demander ?

"je suis (nul(le) à chier en français". Careful children, this one is PG-13, do not use it in front of your teachers' sensitive ears... :p

I'm sure they've already heard/read this somewhere anyway, gross words are usually the first thing you look for when you start learning a new language :p

Bon, bah alors si on en est là :

"Je suis une merde en français" also works. :p

Ouais, ou "une chiotte", ou encore "une chiasse"... Un des profs de Llanelli m'avait prêté un bouquin sur l'argot francophone dans lequel l'auteur s'attardait sur l'influence de tout ce qui est scatologique sur les jurons français... En voici encore l'exemple parfait :p

    Et Akhun, tu cherches quoi, toi ? "Veux-tu m'épouser" ? :p

Yay, that's the one I was on about! However, I didn't know if Kdace would ban me or not for saying it :p

You can say it as long as you say that Matrix is an awesome trilogy in the same post ;)
