ST Any JarJar-ish characters in TFA?

Before the release of TFA, a couple of folks were worried there might be a cringe-inducing, eye-rolling, cheesy, what-the-heck-is that new character, like J.J. Binks (or an Ewok, or Boss Nass, etc.). IMO, fortunately TFA had no new character on the level of Mr. Binks. But...

While watching TFA, were there any new character that gave you a moment of concern that J.J. Abrams might be getting a little too cheesy (that is, a little bit JarJar-ish)?

 

Not at all... The humour in this was spot on!

 

I think most of the comic relief was done by BB-8, Chewbacca, Han, and Finn. Most of it was done nicely though.

 

I didn't hate the CGI on Maz or Snoke but by no means was it spectacular IMOP. I do remember thinking "oh give me a break" when the gangs arrived on Hans freighter...just so Trekie.

 

Nope. No one thankfully. Chewie had the best comedy IMO and it was spot on. The humor was great.

Finn is the most obvious character with a generous portion of comedy throughout.

Of course Jar Jar was and is a fool (as designed) and Finn is not.

In that sense Finn is more akin to 3PO in some ways in ANH.

There was quite a lot of "cheese" as per usual in Star Wars so I don't consider that at all unusual.

The Finn and Phasma stuff later I felt was somewhat out of place and didn't really fit that well. Based on early in the film I'd thought he would be more simply angry that doing a childish taunt.

 

Nope thank god, and if anyone says there is they've made my enemy list. lol

 

Not at all. Every single one of the jokes was spot on. I've seen the movie three times (maybe four times by tomorrow ) and audience was laughing and enjoying the humor at all three showings.
