Anybody else HATE the NJO Covers?

I love the stories, but hate the covers! The immpresionist theme just leaves everything a visual haze and too dreamlike.

I much prefer the Japaneese covers. So badass.

I love the Japanese covers, and for the most part I prefer them. But nobody does cover art better than Cliff Nielson, IMNSHO.

Wow, the hardcovers are almost the worst NJO covers IMO (DT and FH edge them out slightly though). The best for me were probbably the EL covers, though EoV wasn't bad either.

I like the hardcover... er, covers. And the Enemy Lines ones. All the others range from forgettable to terrible.

I'm actually not a fan at all of the Japanese covers. I like the American ones a lot better, if only most of the books were as good.

How can't you like the Rebel Dream cover? The Defiance in wedge's eyes...

The Onslaught cover was good as well, the blurry x-wings against the purple night-sky. Very WW2/Battle of Britain how they were parked.

Heroes Trial-Han never looked better, and at least I know what a Ryn looks like! Brillanty dark cover, love it!

Some ARE forgettable, Rebel Stand, Force Heretic, Balance Point, the others are average.

 

Balance Point was my favorite out of all of them I think. I DIDN'T like the covers that were released for that trilogy that was cancelled. They were horrible.

I'll agree that the colored one we saw wasn't all that good, but the other one never made it anywhere near finished, so I don't think it necessarily fair to judge it. *shrug* Her three covers we did get weren't bad, so I may be cutting her some slack because of that.

 

NJO covers were either really good or really bad.

 

I liked the DT ones, couldn't really say too much for the others.

None of them are the equals of the magnificence of (all) of the movie posters, though...IMO.

In my opinion, Rebel Dream's cover is much better then any of the US or Japanese covers.

 

I love the american and Japanese covers for NJO.

 

I liked the insanity that ensued a few days before Balance Point came out when someone pointed out what they thought what a baby's head in BP. It was everyone's evidence that Luke and Mara would have a baby...

I liked the DT ones too and the others were generally kinda blah.

 

I have to agree that the Jap covers were better! But some of the reg. ones are good too. For ex: Enemy Lines. Those were great!

Although, I HATE Destiny's Way cover!!!

Most of the covers are alright but the NJO Force Heretic trilogy covers were god awful. I absolutely hated them.

 

Star By Star's cover was awesome.

I like the NJO covers. I would also agree that the Japanese ones are the best, but I like the american ones. There's so many cool little things to notice in the background, and there are so many symbolic images in all of them. There alot more meaningful and deep than the old Bantam ones, but those are good too.

 

I dislike most of the covers in what seems to be the latest ? badly photoshoped ? style. Out of these, Rebel Stand and Traitor are probably the best. I do like the illustrations ? The Final Prophecy stand out among these.
