There has been people here before asking for people from Iceland, so they do exist somewhere here in the JC.
ég er frá Ãslandi hlakkar mikið til 17 maà þegar AOTC verður frumsýnd. en með heppni þá gætum við séð hana fyrr ef það verður forsýning.
oh **** you didn't understand that. i tought you guys were from iceland too
Go ahead and write it, we can learn!
Norsk og Island..sk? er litt sam
I almost wrote a paper on Iceland, but a lot of the sources were in Norwegian and of course, Icelandic.
here's the translation: "I'm from iceland. Looking forward to may 17th when AOTC premires. but with luck we could see it sooner if there's gonna be a pre-premiere"
hope you learned some icelandic there. "cool" language, eh? hey why don't they shoot some scenes for Episode III over here. we got some intresting landscape. large lavafields for examples which could be good enviroment for that obiwan vs anakin duel
I think Icelandic is a very beautiful language, but I don't understand much, I understand some when it's written, but I couldn't make a sense of everything you wrote above.
I got "I am from Iceland" from that .
I figured out the "I'm from Iceland" part too... Other than that, all the Icelandic I know is what I've picked up from watching Hrafninn flýgur.
I really like your letters, the d's are very cool.
here's how the letters are pronounaced:
à = "ee" like in "easy"
ý = same as Ã
þ,Þ = "th" (exhaled) like in "thank"
ð,à = "th" (inhaled) like in "the"
æ,Æ = "I" sounds exactly like "eye"
ó = "O" like in "sO" or "osama bin laden"
ú = "ouu" like in "mooooooo" and "you"
á = "aou" like in "ouch" and "couch"
Ok sorry for the late response. Actually I am American. The reason I asked was because I am stationed on the Keflavik Military Base. As far as I can tell I am the only person from the base on these boards.
Are you learning to speak some Icelandic?
A little, but most of the Icelandics speak english anyway so there is not really any reason to.
Yes you are right there probably isn't a need to but, it is a polite gesture when you are a guest in another country, especially if you are planning an extended stay.
Learning Spanish is really enough for me right now...
I met some Icelandic people and they did not like to speak english very much with me. They rather would prefer swedish.
Most Icelandics I have met do not mind speaking English, in fact they do so very well. Sometimes it takes me a little while to catch their accents
Hey, hver ertu? Það er alltaf verið að hrósa okkur!
Ætlaru ekki á forsýninguna 9 ma Varstu ekki búinn að frétta af þv
jú auðvitað, ég er búin að kaupa miða og allt. hlakkar ekkert smá til!
Emperor_Billy_Bob, I'm at Kef too, you're not the only one anymore.
