hello, i live in indiana (aka: the "we have nothing state") and on top of having nothing we have no nhl hockey team. i think that chicago is the closest one (maybe columbus, i have no idea)so i am going to try to get my dad to drive me to chicago sometime to see a blackhawks game. what i was wondering was, how much are the tickets and are they hard to get (like do they sell out way in advance)
    thanks for any help

I love the Blackhawks and have been an on and off fan for a while but going to the games are expensive. I went to a game in December and paid about 40 bucks for upper deck seats. That's not including the 15 bucks for parking. If you really like hockey and don't need to see a NHL game, go see the AHL Chicago Wolves. The seats are cheap, the games are fun and family oriented, and the stadium is alot smaller so you'll have great seats no matter where you are. Try chicagoblackhawks.com or chicagowolves.com and check the prices out there.

Bottom of the barrel Hawks tickets are something like 15-20 bucks, but you're way up in the rafters where Moses lost his sandals.

As much as I love NHL-level gameplay (but not the Hawks, more ire toward the orgin-I-zation than the players themselves,) I still prefer going to minor-league games. The Wolves are a great team to watch and tickets are very inexpensive; something like 12 dollars for mid-level seating. Doesn't Indiana have a few AHL teams as well?

On an interesting side note, the Wolves are playing a game on St. Patrick's Day (next Sunday.) Between the first and second periods, my friend Abe and his longtime girlfriend/fiancee are getting married... on the ice, with the teams mascot escorting the bride, and Wayne Messmer "co-officiating" the ceremony.

Goofy romantic spectacle at its very best/worst. I cant wait.

Wolves games are a blast. The stadium is easy to get in and out, the cost is right and the action is pretty damn good.

I believe Indy used to have the Ice, but they moved somewhere a couple years back.

Hey, just butting in with a plug here.

The Blues are a great team, and St. Louis is a short 4 hour drive from Indianapolis. (I know, I've done it, a couple of times, and I am not a crazy speed demon by any means.)

The cheapest seats for a Blues game are only $15. And yes, these are the "nosebleed" seats, but at the Savvis Center even those seats afford a really excellent view of the game. We used to have a different hockey arena and it sucked. But I often buy the cheap seats for Blues games, and love it. Sure, I love it when I can sit closer, but there's really not a bad seat at Savvis, IMHO.

Also, St. Louis is a nice city to visit, less busy than Chicago, and you can probably get a hotel room for a more reasonable price here.

Well, my friends' wedding at last night's Wolves game went pretty well. Except for the bad ice...

Did I just come to an Indy Knights meeting? Yes. At the very end, I breezed into town after much delay and had my family drop me off there, and your sweet vice-pres. took me back to my hotel.

Um, when am next going to a Blues game? No plans, but unless it's Chicago, Detroit, or Colorado, you can usually get tickets at the last minute, so I never worry about it too much. I just go whenever I want to / don't have other plans. There are a few other hockey fans in our forum, we might get a group together if you gave us enough notice. :) 'Course, season's rapidly coming to a close. :(
