Anyone Carving Pumpkins???

i was wondering if anyone is doing any pumpkins for halloween this year? i am doing some, so far i'm planning on doing a darth vader, yoda, and spiderman one... i just learned how to carve a pumpkin with shadowing techniques, its pretty spiffy. if youd want a pattern for cutting out something let me know and i can see if i am able to make one...

 

Yes I am, but my sister will do most of the work. She is great at it. Last year I think she did Yoda. It was good!! But I am afraid to put them outside cuz people might come and smash my sister's wonderful carvings!

 

i will of course take pictures of my pumpkins to share with everyone... i hope they come out okay... i also have some tips on preserving them so they last a little longer, one, dont cut the top out, cut the bottome out, two, once its carved out spray the pumpkin with lysol, and cover the cut parts with vasoline... also when not used cover the pumpkin with plastic wrap and keep in a cool place, lastly if at all possible dont use a candle, use some sort of artificial light like a "candelabra" Christmas light... thats about it for now...

I am totaly carving a pumpkin this year, I always do. I think I'm gonna do something like the Mortal Combat dragon, or something... I donno, I havent really decided yet. Usualy the pumpkin tells me what it wants to be...
