Abq Anyone else going to OZZFEST?

It looks like Jabba_jo and I will be going to OzzFest next Tuesday. Is anyone else going to be there?

 

This is the first year I'm not going. I was considering it since Iron Maiden was co-headlining, then it came out that they aren't doing the ABQ show. Then members of Black Sabbath were out ill. I bagged it.

I was bummed when I found out Maiden wasn't coming. They are my all-time favorites. I really want to see Killswitch Engage, Mudvayne, and As I lay Dying. It should be fun, I can't wait to get sprayed down with the firehose at the second stage. Muddy mosh pits are the best!

 

Did you go last year? The second stage was mostly asphault and I saw some guy take a nasty header into the pavement. I took a foot to the face during Slipknot and broke my brand new sunglasses. Ah, memories.

 

I knocked out a guy with a mowhawk during Lamb of God. It was wizard! He punched me in the back of the head and I just turned and socked him. "the dukes of hazzard"

 

Way to go!!

I gave my tix to my bro. I don't have enough time to take off work.

 

I couldn't get the time off from work either, it's always a hassle getting off any time there.

i had tickets for last nights disturbed concert that was cancelled. Sucked

 

Disturbed is going to honor the tickets when they come back in January, so hold on to it!!

 

So, Matt, how was it?????

 

It was awesome!! As I lay Dying, Killswith Engage, and Rob Zombie were awesome on the second stage. Shadows fall and Mudvayne were wicked good on the main stage, even though it rained on us during Shadows Fall. I'm not a huge Velvet Revolver fan, but Slash is awesome, and Scott Weiland is a really great frontman. They played some STP and some Guns n' Roses stuff too so that was good. Black Sabbath was great as always, and I got a wicked nice sunburn!

 

It was FUN!! Rob Zombie was bad A@#

 

Awesome!!! Sounds like fun. I heard Velvet Revolver exceeded most's expecations.

I guess there is all kinds of drama between the Ozzy camp and the Iron Maiden Camp. Jeez. Didn't they know that there is no drama in metal, just like there is no crying in baseball. Damn....

ohh I would have LOVED to see that in person. I'm suprised it was only one person tazed.

 

Wow. Getting tazed hurts. I accidentally tazed myself in college. (the thing was in my backpack, turned on and when I reached in, zap!)

The Monday after the Megadeath concert I went to a company to do some work and one of the guys there was beat to hell (broken arm, cut eye, broken nose). Apparently he was the guy I saw with 4-5 guys using him as a door mat.

 

Man Yesterday OZZFEST and today Matts playing the air drums and air bass, 2 concerts in 2 days. What more could you ask for?
