    I'm coming from Australia. Airline prices around May are $AU1500 - $2000 (just to LA). So tack on a few extra hundred dollars for accomodation and inter-US flights ... and then there's the spending money to worry about.

    Well fortunately if you take the right airlines you can get a good deal from LA to Indy at the moment. If you go Southwest, you can usually get a good deal.
