Anyone here remember the Booyaka era?

I remember the Booyaka Era. I was just coming out of my lurker status then...some of JS77s threads were the first I posted in. The Booyaka spirit isn't gone nor is the School of Crashology...they live on (albeit in a much reduced form) in the Moffalliance of Moffell.

I came in around the tail end of the booyaka era. I really liked JS77's posts, they were always creative and amusing. Sadly, when we made the switch to snowboards so many moons ago, not all of us made it to the other side.

Yuppers, the EU underwear speculation thread was the best of the booyaka threads.

And yes, I use booyaka on a daily basis in my work with the yanamomo tribe.

JS77 still lurks here.

 

I knew something was missing from this place. More precisely, someone, in fact, several someone's- Sasha Sawyer, JS77, Casta, Ganner, Laura Skywalker, and Mara03. I think I came in just before JediSaber77 did his thing. I liked him. There are many people here that I still like. Most people here are pretty damn cool.

 

Wow...this really brings back some memories......its been to quiet here......i think that in addition to the loss of a great many figurehead members JediSaber77 among them...the creation of the Community Forum and its seperation from the Literature Forum......many of those old threads that used to exist couldn't in today's boards as they would be locked and sent to Community......

This Forum needs three things...

A. Either the return of major classic members as have been mentioned (and occasionaly appearing) in this thread...or the creation(or otherwise analagous term) of new figureheads and major posters...

B. A recombination with the community forum or at least a relaxing of standards here...this is a community...seperating community and lit took all the fun out of the lit forum...

C. More Booyaka!!!

 

Ahhh, great times!!! Very amusing...whatever every happened to booyaka.

 

JediSabre77 was the best Marvel convert/protoge I ever had. (Although I still have high hopes for Darth Ludicrous. One has to set their goals high, you know ) The Booyaka threads for the most part were fun and mostly harmless. I know we had a lot of fun times with them.

However, JediSabre77 made the mistake of taking things seriously. Not too seriously, but seriously. That was the beginning of his decline. I think nearly 99% of the problems around here occur when people take things seriously. And in that respect JediSabre77 was no different. This is entertainment.

When JediSabre77 was entertaining, he could stand with the best of 'em. When he was serious about something - he more often than not gave a sorry performance that caused more problems than things were worth.

Ironically enough, I do, and that was before I even visited the Lit forum. Though I knew I'd heard it somewhere. So this is where it came from...
