FF:QLD Anyone in Townsville?

Hey all, I am wanting to start a Star Wars fan group in Townsville so I have likeminded people to socialise with. Are there any other Townsvillians out there or do you know of any who may be interested? It's great to find some in the state at least.

I'm actually in Brisbane for a few days late Septmeber. But if I move anywhere it would be Sydney. Got way too much family in Brisbane. I do have a friend at UQ though, studying Law. I'm a tourism student full time and astronomy student part time.

Gorgeous. We are having an observation night on Wednesday to celebrate. I live a bit out of town though and the sky is perfectly dark every night. I'm lucky and got some cool photos of Mars with the moon recently.

If you can get to a big telescope you should. I can find one for you if you like. My friend is into astronomy and is living down there now.

I'm just going to campaign at uni. That's how I got the astronomy club up and running.

Ha, no. I've been asked this question many times. It's a reference to a quote Rick made in some newspaper or something a while back, talking about Star Wars fans in general, how they can get really into the whole thing. He said something along the lines of "these people are totally deranged!" So I wear it as a badge of pride.

And since you are from up this way, is there anybody you know here who is into SW?

Hmmm, one or two, maybe. Not seriously into it, but casual fans.

I lived in Townsville for eight years ... I still go to therapy for the trauma!

Sorry guys, I haven't been around lately and missed all your kind words about my home It's boring, I'll give you that. It's pretty nice though and we've had maybe two days of winter this year.

Hey Ewok dude. You sound like a bit of a Wraith Squadron fan. I'm reading it now, for about the 5th time. I love it to pieces. If you start up the real thing (fan club wise), I want in.

Maybe I'll have better luck recruiting up here on a door to door basis than here on the net!
