Anyone know of any good writing / plot creation software?

Does anyone know of any links / websites that offer free software for:

Random plot generation,

Random name generation,

etc...

 

I'd like to hear about the name ones myself, but I'm more than a little leary of computers generating plots.

Then again, I've used Tarot cards to generate plots, so I probably shouldn't complain...

Hmm, maybe I should try the Tarot cards, JG - I just use insomnia and high amounts of caffeine and sugar to generate plots. Just ask my co-authors.

It's not plot creation software, nor character names, but I've found this site wonderful for drawing up characters for visuals and so on.

I was looking for something myself. There are a lots of software, but they are paid...

 

Steven Savage's site has loads of online generators for names of people, things, ship names and stuff. There's a couple of plot/plot summary generators too. None of them are specifically Star Wars. The name generators might be useful though. Jane posted the link in her post earlier, thanks Jane. Wouldn't recommend my own generator particularly, it's extremely Jedi-centric and has a very limited set of possibilities- just a bit of fun.

I can't recommend any writing software because I've never used any, but there are a ton of free demo downloads at Master Freelancer- plot constructors, plot templates, story generators and so on.

What next? Computer written fanfiction? Would we notice the difference
