JCC Anyone NOT playing Mass Effect 3?

Since I haven't played video games since the PS2 days... no.

p.s. I'm greatly looking forward to my son being old enough to play video games so I can have an excuse to do so as well.

 

You must not have watched Quantum Leap. Because I can't imagine an ending worse than a small bit of text at the bottom of the screen saying "Oh and the main character never accomplished what the entire series was about. lol kthanxbi."

I thought about looking into playing the series through, but decided I couldn't really be bothered.

 

I gave into temptation and ended up buying ME3 on launch. I originally was going to not buy it after trying out the demo and finding out how badly it played on my computer, but eventually I decided I didn't want to wait 9 months for a price drop to see how the story ends. And it turns out it was just the demo missions that ran horribly on my computer, most of the time it actually runs quite smoothly. I believe this is the first game I've ever paid full price for....usually I wait for Steam sales or do this.

 

for the most part i'm like ten years behind on video games. but lately i've been playing "gears of war 3" with a couple friends because we've been getting into co-op games and are always looking for new games to play. and i have to say that game is really terrible. maybe you have to play the first two to really get into it, i dunno, but it's just like the same super repetitive gameplay with a cheesy story.

as for mass effect, i watched my ex play through most of the first two. definitely entertaining but too much of a time sink for me and i find myself feeling depressed whenever i play video games alone.

 

Not playing it but since you mention it I might play it.

If you want to stop imagining a worse ending, get Mass Effect 3. 98% of the game is OMGAMAZING. And then the last fifteen minutes makes me wish I had never picked up the series.

 

The only thing I can imagine giving me that reaction is a ridiculously cheesy, happy ending with everyone smiling and laughing.

 

I dunno, that worked for Harvey Birdman, although it was played ironically.

Now I'm kind of excited to see just how bad this ending is.

No, no, we definitely only hear a gunshot, and then someone runs in screaming - except then it turns out Shepard shot the mirror and thus can appear in the fifth anniversary special.

 

I have horrible fears that Half Life 3 (when it eventually comes out) might have a horrible ending and undermine so much of the awesomeness of the rest of the series. Something really lame like G-Man being Gordon Freeman's father, or Gordon himself

I played the original Half-Life - which is the only game I've ever applauded as the end credits rolled - and left it at that.

 

You should play the second one, it's really good.

 

I've no interest in turning a fantastic one-off into an ultimately disappointing franchise.
