Well it is and it isnt an exclusive cause they will be all over ebay aswell. I dont know the retail value but I shall not be picking one up as I have already got the otc tie fighter which I shall be getting rid of as it is rather lame compared to my rotj boxed tie fighter.

I haven't seen one yet, but I plan to get one when (If) I do. It's my understanding that it's retailing for $39.99 . I would prefer one molded in gray/off-white, like in ANH, but maybe some day. [face_praying]

Yep, $40 Target exclusive...I haven't seen one yet, but I will be buying it when I do.

Unfortunately the price tag is so high I'm not sure if I'll buy two. At $30 or even $35 I probably would have though.

Look at it this way.....it may cost 40 dollars, but so does buying gas for your car in one helping! ::_|

You'll burn up all that gas in less than a week, but you can enjoy the tie fighter for many years until your kids get ahold of it and break it! ;)

I got it!!! Ventured to my Target after work and they had two...only bought one cuz it's so damn expensive. It's pretty big though, the wings...It looks a lot more like a real TIE Fighter, although I wish it was less blue and more gray (like the TIE INTERCEPTOR they did for TRU)...ahh well...I opened it and it's currently escorting Darth's TIE

I saw one in the Target closest to me yesterday. It is very large. :) It comes with its own stormtrooper pilot in black. It look cool, but I don't think I will add it to the collection. I'm holding out for the Gunship and the ARC 170.

I saw it and passed for now. Since the cockpit is the same mold it has been for nearly 30 years, and the pilot is a mold from nearly 10 years ago, the only thing that we are really paying $40 for is the wings.

I'm hoping the wings alone will show up on e-bay...

to those that have the new TIE is it actually the right scale (wings to cockpit i mean) that they are in the movie? or are the older TIEs more accurate?

I heard that the newer one is to scale more than the older ones. I love ties, I have the bomber and intercepter placed In my living room.

The Scale is pretty darn good. And the **** pit is the updated, CORRECT cockpit with the black window on the back instead of the battery butt thing...sooo nice!

I had it in my hands, but that is way to much $$$$$. Cool looking though.

Actually the cockpit is the updated version of the mold from 2002. The same one that was used for the KB exclusive Saga version as well as the OTC version. It was retooled to remove the "bump" caused by the battery pack on the rear of the cockpit ball. It's still inaccurate, but it's a significant improvement.

If the wings show up on E-Bay I wouldn't really expect them to go for anything less than the $40 you're seeing for the vehicle at retail...after all people need to make their money back, and who's going to buy it just for the cockpit and pilot?

So thinking about it that way you'd wind up paying $40+ (not including shipping) for just the wings when you could've paid $40 for the wings and picked up a bonus cockpit and pilot for free. ;)

I thought, I was going to have a to get a SBA(small buisiness administration) loan when I saw that pricing!:_|

Hasbro almost had me until...........I saw the bricket(non-articulating) tie fighter!

That was just NOT right![face_shame_on_you] [face_shame_on_you] I had to pass on that ship![face_plain]

i got it. its my first one so i figured i'd just get it. i want to get the interceptor as well but since no one replied to my other thread...:(

anyways, in one of the boxes i guess someone returned the older fighther with the smaller wings, lol. i brought the box to someone and told them about it. they probably just put it back on the shelf after i left.

Ah... I didn't realize the battery box had been removed. Even so, it is still not worth $40 of my dollars to me. Maybe it'll go on my X-mas list.

As I usually do with exclusives and other great stuff, I picked up 2. They look really cool boxed next to each other. Now if I can get the OTC Vader tie-fighter, I'll have the imperial Death Star trench run set up. :)
