Dajuan, I know you're an Ebay junkie. This should be right up your alley.

    Anyone else want in?

I sent the following letter to the seller:
    Hi
This is the best auction I have ever seen! Thanks! Are you serious?

    Dajuan

    And got this response:
Thanks for your interest and compliments and YES we are serious. We intend
to sell this mission. We wanted to find the simplest way to offer space
missions to the public and thought this was a start. Tell all your friends.

    This is freakin' hilarious!! LOL!!!

Oh man, that is really innovative, but it will take a miracle for anyone to bid on that.

BTW, how did you find this VoijaRisa? Do you look up stuff like this on purpose? ;)

There's an article about it on space.com which is a site I go to get most of my astronomy news.

*Votes that we should all pitch in on it and send one of our members into space!* :p Wow! What a hilliarious auction.

EDIT: Oh Yea, I also have read about their SpaceShipOne project in PopularScience... so they seem somewhat credible. Imagine it! The STLFF could rain fire upon the earth and then take it over! Uh, you didn't hear that! Its my idea! MINE! Uh, can I borrow $250,000.00 from someone?

It's only for the satellite right? However, I did see that there is a contest to build a spaceship designed for the everyday person to take up for short periods of time. I wonder how much it would cost to go up in one of those.

Dagobah Diva, the contest you're referring to is the X-prize which offers $10,000,000.00 to the first team to successfully launch a person into space and retrieve them safely.

There's a teen in California working on getting enough money together to buy a ticket. I think the going price was something like $5,000,000.00.

Teh Company that is doing this satelite thing is also doing the engines for a ship competing for the X-Prize. They got nearly a full page on (with a massive picture) in PopularScience.

Dunno if anyone cares but it ended up at 300,100 with 4 bids. Doesn't look like they made the reserve price. I wonder how much something like that cost to sell on eBay?
