    Stupid, just stupid.

    http://razzies.com/asp/content/XcNewsPlus.asp?cmd=view&articleid=110

YJ edit: This has been open long enough for everyone to get their two cents in. When it comes down to it, the Golden Raspberry Awards are just another awards show, and I doubt George Lucas cares what they think about the films he makes.

Oh, I love the hilarious changing of AOTC's name for each nomination. Beautifully rich, subtle humour, Oscar Wilde would be proud.

    [/sarcasm]

Betcha a tenner that Ep3 will get nominations, too.

Can anyone actually defend those nominations?

I mean...saying that AOTC was not in the same league as TTT or Spider-Man is one thing....but to say that AOTC is WORSE than films like Bourne Identity, Sum of All Fears, etc....it's beyond stupidity.

    LOL Ekenobi,thank you for supporting.

Even though the critics hated AOTC soooooooo much,it still made 310 million, almost as much as LOTR/TTT,which is loved dearly by the critics.

Ha ha ha, that's probably the most accurate goof-title for a completely irrelevant film.

Actually, two of my favorite films have won the coveted Worst Picture award.

"Battlefield Earth"... unintentional comedy of epic proportions. Every sci-fi fan should watch it. "ANOTHER 50 CYCLES!!!"

"Showgirls"... actually a work of genius. Sure, it's trashy but it's about Las Vegas srtippers. How could it not be trashy? At least Verhoeven had the juevos to show up and accept his award in person! "This is a show, not a melon-patch!"

Do you always give this much attention to movies you call "irrelevant"? The very fact you spend so much time trying to bash it makes it inherently relevant. [face_laugh]

Yeah...AOTC sure does deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence with Showgirls and Battlefield Earth.

By ANY objective measure...and I mean ANY...AOTC is leaps and bounds above any of those films.

You will have a hard time explaining this nomination without exploring the possibility of "shudder" bias or anti-SW backlash.

Well I care what they say. I'm sick fed-up of the constant Star Wars bias that is everywhere. And it DOES matter.

I was talking to someone the other day, and when we talked about movies I asked if she'd seen AOTC.

She said no because it got bad reviews, and then said "Nobody liked that film anyway, did they?".

    This happens ALL the time.

We should do something about it. All of these stupid award ceremonies and internet polls add up until the general concensus is that Star Wars is dead and nobody likes it anymore.

I ALWAYS vote on every poll I see but not many do. It's time to ask yourself - do you really care any more about Star Wars?

Anyone who says Hayden did a bad job in AOTC is simply criticising for the sake of it, and I don't care about their opinions. I know a good actor when I see it, and Hayden did a fantastic job.

I agree. There movies they like are the ones nobody ever sees. They ususally dislike the big popcorn movies. The reason why I go is the big popcorn movies. not some snoozing waste of indy crap.

I can see why Scooby-Doo, Hart's War, Adam Sandler's Eight Crazy Nights, Mr. Deeds, Men in Black II, The Country Bears, and about thirty other films this year that practically have the words CRAP stamped in the title are better films than AOTC [face_plain] [face_plain]

Why is everyone taking these awards so seriously? Jesus, they did the same thing back in 2000 for The Phantom Menace. The nominations are a joke and should be taken as a joke and nothing more. AOTC has nothing to prove.
