AOTC on IMAX starting 11/1/02

Hey all,

Some of you may, or may not know yet... but Lincon Square is
officially showing Attack of the Clones on November 1st. This leaves
us in a bit of a dilemma, but if people are willing to help out, it
will be a great-fun-filled weekend.

As it stands, the ECG and SWNYC would love to do BOTH locations.
Both Nyack and Manhattan. So here is what we're planning to do...

October 31st the ECG will be attending the Halloween parade
November 1st the ECG will be attending the IMAX premiere in MANHATTAN
November 2nd the ECG will be attending the IMAX premiere in NYACK.

That's right boys and girls... three FULL days of trooping and
PARTYING! Think you can handle it? I guarentee you each day will be
alot of fun.

Below you will find a list of 22 troopers... If you are on this list,
you have contacted me and signed up for the IMAX release on November
1st. I ***NEED**** you to contact me RIGHT away and tell me if you
can do both events. If not, I need to know which events you can do.
Attendance is EQUALLY IMPORTANT in both theaters. From what I'm
hearing there will be press coverage at BOTH. We need to have a good
showing for Lucasfilm! To the out of town guys, I completely
understand if you can't do both days... that was more directed to the
guys who call New York their home.

I will be setting up a NEW Database in the database section of the
ECG message board. This new database will refelect who can do what
days. If you cannot access the ECG message board, then PLEASE email
me right away at MerlynNY@aol.com and give me the following
information: Name, ID#, Costume, Garrison, Can you attend on
Novemeber 1st in Manhattan, Can you attend November 2nd in Nyack, and
your email address.

Manhatten??? *L* Okay...

Our plans are to meet Ed (Reaper) in New Jersey and drive in from there... this adds about an hour to the trip, so because of babysitter stuff it's getting critical that I have a time when we're meeting so I know when we have to leave and when I have to drop the kids off etc....

Now that it's in Manhatten, is it still going to be start getting dressed at 4:00?

What time do the festivities start, just in case we end up running late?

You're right! We don't know what time anything starts, when we are supposed to be there - Dion is updating me on a daily basis. As soon as I get information it gets posted here. SW NYC and the ECG are still trying to work out some details with the theater.

However, maybe what you should do is meet us at the Best Western Hotel in Manhattan:

They have parking there ($25 per 24 hours - don't know what the hourly would be). That way you can park and then take the train over to the theater with a bunch of people. There will also be enough rooms for you to get changed, leave your belongings, etc for the evening.

I will also have my mobile with me. We will already be in Manhattan b/c of the parade the night before. I will make sure all KofP Chapter members have that number so we can stay in communication.

AOTC IMAX on Nov 1 at NYACK, NY.

Activities will begin at 2pm and continue through the evening. I am going to buy tix for all of the KOFP folks for the first evening showing at 7pm - you can pay me back later. I need confirmation ASAP of WHO is going on Friday, Nov 1. So far I have:

We are NOT being given free tix for the showing. Dion has informed me there is a chance we will be comped tix for a later showing, but I for one want to see it while I'm up there and don't want to take that chance.

Activities will also happen on Nov 2 starting at noon and finishing at 7pm. I won't be attending those events, but whoever wants to stick around, feel free...

 

Very cool... Kev, Ed and I are all going to be there for sure, so PLEASE get us tix!!

Ok, so Manhattan confirmed AOTC IMAX five minutes ago. But I had to make an executive decision and I hope everyone is ok with it. We just couldn't wait any longer to make final arrangements for the events next week esp because we are all traveling such a great distance. Officially KofP chapter will be in Nyack, NY on Nov 1. However, if you *really* want to go to the Manhattan theater on Nov 1, you need to let me know ASAP so I can inform the SWNYC and ECG organizers. At this point in time all main activities will be at Nyack and 'reserve' troopers (about 4) will go to Manhattan.

Also, I am getting tix for the 7pm show on Nov 1 for Julia, Kev, Ed, myself, Arturo, Natasha, and Rob....

Matt and Tim, please confirm with me that you ARE definitely going and that you want a ticket for the 7pm show. PM me or email me. Thanks.

We had an awesome time! The theater treated us wonderfully with free drinks and munchies. They even gave us a room to change and leave our belongings in. Plus the IMAX was IN the mall so we didn't have to be outside. It was fun seeing people's reactions...and we got to see the 7pm screening and I must say it rocks in IMAX.
